John Houston Stockton is an American former professional basketball player. Regarded as one of the greatest point guards, players, and passers of all time, he spent his entire NBA career (1984–2003) with the Utah Jazz, and the team made the playoffs in each of his 19 seasons. In 1997 and 1998, together with his longtime teammate Karl Malone, Stockton led the Jazz to the franchise's only two NBA Finals appearances, both of which were losses to the Chicago Bulls.

O'Billovich has been involved with the CFL since 1963 in the roles of player, coach, general manager, scout, and several front-office positions. As a long-time coach in the CFL, he won 107 regular season games in the CFL, the eighth highest win total by a head coach in the league's history.

The Mersey Tigers were a professional basketball team based in the city of Liverpool, England. The club was established in 2007 as a start-up franchise of the British Basketball League, the country's elite competition. The Tigers started competing at the start of the 2007–08 season, and won the BBL Cup in their second season as well as finishing as runners-up in the league. In 2013 it was officially announced that the Tigers franchise had been withdrawn from the BBL due to financial difficulties that had plagued the club throughout the previous season, which resulted in the Tigers becoming the first ever BBL club to complete an entire season without a single victory.

The 2021–22 Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represents Texas Tech University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. The Red Raiders were led by first-year coach Mark Adams. They played their home games at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. They finished the season 27–10, 12–6 in Big 12 play to finish in third place. In the Big 12 tournament, they defeated Iowa State and Oklahoma to advance to the championship game, but lost to Kansas. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 3 seed in the West region. There they defeated Montana State and Notre Dame to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. In the Sweet Sixteen, they lost to Duke.
