Cornell was the founder and frontman of Temple of the Dog, a one-off tribute band dedicated to his late friend, musician Andrew Wood. Walter Alfred Bahr was an American professional soccer player, considered one of the greatest ever in the United States. Bahr's three sons Casey, Chris, and Matt, all played professional soccer in the defunct North American Soccer League. Together with Gabby, he also won a silver medal at the 2007 World Junior Championships, and then claimed the gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018; and at the European Championships in 2017 and 2018.

He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and won a bronze medal in the men's doubles, partnered with Marcus Ellis.
