Chris Tuck (born July 9,1966) is an American politician from the state of Alaska. A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served member of the Alaska House of Representatives,representing the 23rd and 29th Districts in Anchorage from 2008 to 2023. He was the Majority Leader of the Alaska Independent Democratic Coalition. Previously,Tuck served on the Anchorage School Board. [1] Tuck had run unsuccessfully for the State House in 2004 and 2006 before winning election in 2008. [2]
In June 2023,Tuck announced that he would run for mayor of Anchorage in the 2024 election. [3]
Nicholas Joseph Begich Sr. was an American counselor,educator and politician. He served in the Alaska state senate for eight years before being elected in 1970 as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Alaska. He is presumed to have died in the crash of a light aircraft in Alaska in October 1972;his body was never found. He was a member of the Democratic Party.
Ethan Avram Berkowitz is an American attorney,businessman,and politician from Alaska. From 1997 to 2007 he was the Alaska State Representative for District 26,serving as the Democratic Party Minority Leader from 1999 to 2007. He was elected mayor of Anchorage in 2015,and reelected in 2018. Sean Randall Parnell is an American attorney and politician who was the tenth governor of Alaska from 2009 to 2014. He succeeded Sarah Palin in July 2009,and was elected governor in his own right in 2010 with 59.06% of the vote,as the largest percentage margin of any Alaska governor since statehood. In 2014,he narrowly lost his bid for re-election and returned to work in the private sector. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Green,as a political newcomer,was elected to the Alaska Senate in 1994,defeating a 22-year Democratic incumbent in a district representing most of the population of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Two Democratic members of the Alaska House of Representatives,also from the Matanuska-Susitna Valley,were defeated in the same election. Green served a total of fourteen years in the Senate and was its president in her final two years in office.

Giessel returned to the Alaska Senate in 2023,representing the newly configured District E after defeating incumbent Republican Roger Holland. She serves as Senate majority leader in the 33rd Legislature,overseeing a coalition caucus of eight Republicans and nine Democrats.

Incumbent Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy won re-election to a second term,becoming the first Republican governor to be re-elected to a second term since Jay Hammond in 1978 and the first governor,regardless of political affiliation,to be re-elected to a second term since Tony Knowles in 1998.
