Chris Woodhouse is an American recording engineer, record producer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work with the San Francisco-based garage rock acts, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, The Intelligence, Sic Alps and Fuzz. [1]

Alongside his recording duties, Woodhouse is a former member of both The Intelligence and Mayyors, [2] and often contributes musically to Thee Oh Sees. He was listed as a full contributing band member on the band's studio albums, Drop (2014) and Mutilator Defeated At Last (2015). [3]

Career

Woodhouse's former "home base" studio was The Dock in Sacramento, California. [4]

Director is Yonatan Gat's debut full-length studio-album released in 2015 on Joyful Noise Recordings. Gal Lazer plays drums, and Sergio Sayeg is on bass. The album was recorded live by Chris Woodhouse in less than 3 days during a US tour. According to Gat, the band went into the studio with just a few songs and ideas. Though effectively composed of "hours upon hours" of mixed-down, in-studio improvisations spliced together with field recordings that Gat had taken during his travels, the album's sound takes its inspiration from soundtrack virtuosos like Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota.
