Christian van Uffelen (born 19 December 1966 in Offenbach am Main) is a Dutch-German author and art historian, active in Stuttgart.

Biography

He studied Art History at the University of Münster and afterwards at the University of Mainz, where he obtained his MA.

His focus is on medieval architecture, classical modernity and contemporary construction. He has written several newspaper articles and books on these topics as well as a great number of articles on art and architectural history, in general for encyclopedias. [1]

Neues Museum Museum in Berlin, Germany

The Neues Museum is a listed building on the Museum Island in the historic centre of Berlin and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Built from 1843 to 1855 by order of King Frederick William IV of Prussia in Neoclassical and Renaissance Revival styles, it is considered as the major work of Friedrich August Stüler. After suffering damage in World War II and decay in East Germany, it was restored from 1999 to 2009 by David Chipperfield. Currently, the Neues Museum is home to the Ägyptisches Museum, the Papyrussammlung, the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte and parts of the Antikensammlung.

Bundeswehr Military History Museum

The Bundeswehr Military History Museum is the military museum of the German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, and one of the major military history museums in Germany. Manfred "KILI" Kielnhofer is an Austrian painter, sculptor, designer and photographer.

Lead Pencil Studio is the working name of the art and architecture collaborative founded in 1997 by Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo. Han and Mihalyo decided to collaborate and pursue installation art, site-specific art, and functional architecture. They are winners of the 2007 Founder's Rome Prize in Architecture from the American Academy in Rome, and were recognized in 2006 as one of the 'Emerging Voices' by the Architectural League of New York. Their practice is self-described as "architecture in reverse...our projects are everything about architecture with none of its function...spaces with no greater purpose than to be perceived and question the certainty posited by the man-made world."

The Museum of Steel, known as the Museo del Acero, is located in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The Museo del Acero is one of the largest museums ever created in Mexico. It is located on the site of the very large Fundidora steel plant that was decommissioned in the mid 1980s. For 80 years, the Fundidora plant was an important part of the economic and social fabric of this city of 3.7 million people, and its conversion to a major educational facility has been very well received.

Ars Electronica Linz GmbH is an Austrian cultural, educational and scientific institute active in the field of new media art, founded in Linz in 1979.
