Christian Langella (born 7 April 2000) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie C Group B club Rimini.

Club career

Having been part of Pisa youth set-up, he Langella made his debuts in Serie C on the 23 December 2017 in the 2–0 win against Olbia. [1]

Having already been in loan with the S.S.C. Bari for the 2018–19 Serie D, he joined another side from that division the next season: the S.S.D. Palermo, where he impressed and played a central role in Palermo's ascension to Serie C. [2] [3]

On 4 September 2020, he moved on a new loan to Renate. [4]

On 5 August 2021, he went on a new loan to Monopoli. [5]

On 2 August 2022, Langella signed with Cerignola, newly promoted into Serie C. [6]

On 18 August 2023, Langella moved to Rimini on a two-year contract. [7]

The 2019–20 season was Società Sportiva Dilettantistica Palermo's 1st season in Serie D, the fourth-highest division of Italian football, in their history, after the exclusion of the club from Serie B in summer 2019. However, this was the second time that Palermo participated in the fourth division: in the 1987–88 season the sicilian club played in Serie C2, after a year passed outside of any football league, because of bankruptcy in 1986.

The 2019–20 Serie C was the sixth season of the unified Serie C division, the third tier of the Italian football league system. The season was scheduled to run from 24 August 2019 to 26 April 2020, however, on 9 March 2020, the Italian government halted the league until 3 April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. Serie C did not resume play on this date. On 18 May, it was announced that Italian football would be suspended until 14 June.

The 2020–21 season was Palermo Football Club's first season in Serie C, the third tier of Italian football, following promotion from Serie D during the 2019–20 season. Palermo returned to the third division after 19 years, having last played in Serie C1 in 2000–01.
