Seidel graduated from the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule. [2]
He volunteered at SonntagsBlick [3] and worked as a freelance writer and journalist for various newspapers and magazines, such as Quick, [4] Neue Revue, [4] Süddeutsche Zeitung, Abendzeitung, Tempo, Wiener and Stern.
During the founding of German private television stations in the 1980s, he was involved in the development of German private television. In 1988 he hired Claudia Schiffer for a television show, later he managed her for years. [4] In 1992, he organized [5] and coordinated [6] the Model '92 competition for the RTL late-night show Gottschalk Late Night and "is considered one of the discoverers of Heidi Klum". [7]
In the early 1990s he worked for the Kirch Group (Taurus Film), where he was responsible for the international marketing of the films and TV stations of the media group. In 1994 he founded his own company and took over a consultancy contract from Leo Kirch for his television station. Within this role, he was also asked to manage the presenter Arabella Kiesbauer, whose daily and weekly talk shows he accompanied in this role until 2004. He later produced the political format Talk ohne Show for N24 with Arabella Kiesbauer and then Bärbel Schäfer as moderator. [8]
In 1997, Seidel secured the movie rights to Andrew Morton's bestseller "Diana: Her True Story". [4] In 2002 he produced the feature film The Biographer – The Secret Life of Princess Di as an independent producer with director Philip Saville.
In 2003, he was in a serious car accident. [9]
His book Gewinnen ohne zu kämpfen was published in 2011 by Ludwig Verlag, and in it, he explores his career in the international media industry. [10] In doing so, he draws parallels to the philosophy of the martial art of Taekwondo, which he acquired for the book project from the Korean master Ko Eui-Min (1941–2023), who has been living in Germany since 1978. In 2014, his book Die Frau in mir was published by Heyne Verlag and was on the Spiegel bestseller list. [12] In it he reports on his experiences from several years of self-attempt to live as a woman. The director Dariush Rafiy filmed Seidel's Experiment in 2013 in the documentary Christian & Christiane for the TV channel Arte. [7]
In 2015, he presented his 90-minute documentary film Die Himmlischen Hundert vom Maidan Platz (Nebesna Sotnja) on the occasion of the Maidan Memorial Days in Kiev.
In 2016, his book Genderkey was published by Ariston Verlag.
In 2018, his book Ich komme was published by Heyne Verlag, and in it, he creates a picture of male sexuality using his own example.

In his work for Flick KG, he was responsible for the donation of about 26 million Deutsche Mark to all the major German political parties and their associated foundations between 1969 and 1981. As a result of this scandal, he was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on probation and 550,000 DM financial penalty for tax evasion. In 1982 he became a lawyer and management consultant.
The Heyne Verlag is a German publisher based in Munich, which was founded in Dresden in 1934 and sold to Axel Springer in 2000. In 2004 it became part of Random House. Heyne was one of the largest publishing houses in Germany in 1999.
Marianne Bachmeier was a West German woman who shot and killed Klaus Grabowski, a man on trial for the rape and murder of her daughter Anna, in an act of vigilantism in the District Court of Lübeck in 1981. The case sparked extensive media coverage and public debate. As a result, Bachmeier was convicted of manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm. She was sentenced to six years and released on probation after serving three. Bachmeier moved abroad before returning to Germany after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She died at the age of 46 and was buried next to her seven-year-old daughter, Anna, in Burgtor Cemetery, Lübeck.
"Wir schaffen das" is a statement made by Angela Merkel, the then-Chancellor of Germany, during the 2015 European migrant crisis. It has been described as a core slogan of the German concept of Willkommenskultur. She repeated the statement several times at the 2015 Christian Democratic Union party conference. The phrase has become a symbol of Merkel's refugee policy used by supporters and detractors alike.
Manfred Genditzki was sentenced on circumstantial evidence to life imprisonment for the murder of 87-year-old pensioner Lieselotte Kortüm from Rottach-Egern, Bavaria, Germany. The Heidelberg University shooting occurred on 24 January 2022, when an 18-year-old male student, Nikolai G., opened fire on a crowd during an ongoing lecture in Heidelberg University in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, killing one student and injuring three others.
