Christian Stocker (born 20 March 1960) is an Austrian politician of the People's Party. He has been a member of the National Council since 2019, [1] and has served as general secretary of the People's Party since 2022. [2]

The Heimwehr or Heimatschutz was a nationalist,initially paramilitary group that operated in the First Austrian Republic from 1920 to 1936. It was similar in methods,organization,and ideology to the Freikorps in Germany. The Heimwehr was opposed to parliamentary democracy,socialism and Marxism and fought in various skirmishes against left-wing and foreign groups during the 1920s and 1930s. Some of its regional groups also opposed Nazism while others favored it. In spite of its anti-democratic stance,the Heimwehr developed a political wing called the Heimatblock that was close to the conservative Christian Social Party and took part in both the cabinet of Chancellor Carl Vaugoin in 1930 and in Engelbert Dollfuss' right-wing government from 1932 to 1934. In 1936 the Heimwehr was absorbed into what was at the time the only legally permitted political party in Austria,the Fatherland Front,and then later into the Frontmiliz,an amalgamation of militia units that in 1937 became part of Austria's armed forces.
Ignaz Seipel was an Austrian Catholic priest and conservative politician,who served as the Chancellor of the First Austrian Republic twice during the 1920s and leader of the Christian Social Party. He is considered the most prominent statesman of the Austrian right in the interwar period.
Austrian Nazism or Austrian National Socialism was a pan-German movement that was formed at the beginning of the 20th century. The movement took a concrete form on 15 November 1903 when the German Worker's Party (DAP) was established in Austria with its secretariat stationed in the town of Aussig. Heinz-Christian Strache is an Austrian politician and dental technician who served as Vice-Chancellor of Austria from 2017 to 2019 before resigning owing to his involvement in the Ibiza affair. He was also Minister of Civil Service and Sports from January 2018 to May 2019 and chairman of the Freedom Party (FPÖ) from April 2005 to May 2019. He previously served as a member of the National Council from October 2006 until December 2017 and as a member of the municipal council and state legislature of Vienna (2001–2006).
The Fatherland Front was the right-wing conservative,authoritarian,nationalist,and corporatist ruling political organisation of the Federal State of Austria. It claimed to be a nonpartisan movement,and aimed to unite all the people of Austria,overcoming political and social divisions. Established on 20 May 1933 by Christian Social Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss as the only legally permitted party in the country,it was organised along the lines of Italian Fascism,was fully aligned with the Catholic Church,and did not advocate any racial ideology,as Italian Fascism later did. It advocated Austrian nationalism and independence from Germany on the basis of protecting Austria's Catholic religious identity from what they considered a Protestant-dominated German state.
The Politics of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democracy,whereby the President of Regional Government is the head of government,and of a pluriform multi-party system. Reinhold Mitterlehner is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) who served as minister of economy in Austria's government from 2008 until 2017. In September 2014 he also became vice chancellor of Austria and chairman of the ÖVP. On 9 May 2016 he briefly assumed powers and duties as Acting Chancellor of Austria while his coalition partner,the Social Democratic Party,underwent a change in leadership. After a series of quarrels within the grand coalition as well as his own party,Mitterlehner announced his resignation on 10 May 2017,which became effective on 17 May 2017.
