The Diocese of Sacramento is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in the northern California region of the United States. The diocese's see is Sacramento, it is led by a bishop who pastors the mother church of the diocese, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Originally a major part of the defunct Grass Valley Diocese, the present-day diocese was established by Pope Leo XIII on May 28, 1886.

Montini Catholic High School is a co-educational, college preparatory, high school, run by the Christian Brothers in Lombard, Illinois. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet in Illinois. The school was planned by the Christian Brothers in 1963. Pope Paul VI, whose name was Giovanni Battista Montini, was elected to the Papacy that same year. In his honor, the Christian Brothers named the school Montini Catholic High School. Construction of the buildings took place in 1965 and 1966. In September 1966, Montini Catholic High school opened its doors to 217 freshmen. The first commencement exercises were held on June 1, 1970.

Due to the Dungan Revolt (1895–96) the western Inner Mongolian Han Chinese Catholic village Xiaoqiaopan had defensive procedures institted by the Belgian Priests in charge. Missionaries were killed during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900. The French Catholic vicar apostolic, Msgr. Alfons Bermyn wanted foreign troops garrisoned in inner Mongolia, but the Governor refused. Bermyn petitioned the Manchu Enming to send troops to Hetao where Prince Duan's Mongol troops and General Dong Fuxiang's Muslim troops allegedly threatened Catholics. It turned out that Bermyn had created the incident as a hoax. In Fengzhen, a church was founded as early as 1892. Most Christians in Inner Mongolia are Han Chinese.
