Christianity is a minority in Zhejiang province of China. Zhejiang has one of the largest Protestant populations of China. [1] Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Hangzhou is in Zhejiang. Zhejiang has greater religious freedom of Christianity than other parts of the country. [1] There were more than 600 detentions of Christians in the province in 2006. Zhejiang Province of China

Zhejiang, is an eastern, coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Its capital and largest city is Hangzhou. Zhejiang is bordered by Jiangsu and Shanghai to the north, Anhui to the northwest, Jiangxi to the west, and Fujian to the south. Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) is a government funded public university in Hangzhou, China. It is under the co-guidance of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Ministry of Information Industry of China. It was founded in 1956 as the second public university in Zhejiang Province. It was listed in the first group of the 5 universities with prior development by the Provincial Government. The university is ranked among the top 100 best universities in mainland China and is one of the Plan 111 universities. It was formerly named Hangzhou Institute of Electrical Engineering and was renamed in 2004.

Binjiang is one of ten urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, East China, it is located in the core urban area of Hangzou. It is across the Qiantang River from West Lake and the older parts of Hangzhou. Like Pudong in Shanghai, it a very modern, and rapidly developing, area that was mostly farmland until ten years ago. The district's total area is 73 square kilometers, and its population is 120,000 people. The district people's government is situated on Xixing Road.

Taihu Wu (吳語太湖片) or Northern Wu (北部吳語) is a Wu Chinese language spoken over much of southern part of Jiangsu province, including Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, the southern part of Nantong, Jingjiang and Danyang; the municipality of Shanghai; and the northern part of Zhejiang province, including Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Ningbo, Huzhou, and Jiaxing. A notable exception is the dialect of the town of Jinxiang, which is a linguistic exclave of Taihu Wu in Zhenan Min-speaking Cangnan county of Wenzhou prefecture in Zhejiang province. Used in regions around Taihu Lake and Hangzhou Bay, this group makes up the largest population among all Wu speakers. Taihu Wu dialects such as Shanghainese, Shaoxing and Ningbo are mutually intelligible even for L2 Taihu speakers.

Henan province of China has one of the largest Christian populations of East Asia. There are believed to be several million Christians in Henan, most of them attending Chinese house churches. Henan is thought to have one of the most significant proportions of Christians of any Chinese province. Henan has one of the largest Protestant populations of the country. Many Protestants of Henan live in rural areas. On August 6, 2004, a hundred house church members were arrested in Henan. During the Boxer Rebellion, Christians were killed in Henan. The Henan Mission, up to 1925 of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, was founded in 1888. The Shouters are active in the province. There is persecution of Christians. Bishop Li Hongye was arrested in Luoyang in 2001. A Henan Bible School exists.

Christianity is a minority religion in Shandong province of China. Christianity in Henan, Christianity in Anhui and Christianity in Jiangsu are other major provincial Christian populations. Cheeloo University is defunct. St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao and Sacred Heart Cathedral (Jinan) are churches of European style. Another European-style church is due to be built in Qufu, where Confucius originated. This idea was or is opposed by Confucianist groups. There is official action against house churches.

Christianity is a minority in Fujian province of China. The Shouters are present in the province. Churches in Fujian include The Aowei Church of Holy Rosary, Church of Heavenly Peace, Fuzhou, Flower Lane Church, Saint Dominic's Cathedral, Fuzhou and St. John's Church, Fuzhou. Christianity in Fuqing consisted of 350,000 Christians in the 2000s and is a centre of Christianity. The local churches (affiliation) are estimated to include about half of them. The number of members of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in Fujian is a high 6-digit figure at least. There are at least 80,000 members of the True Jesus Church in the province. Fujian has many house churches. Christianity has been present in Fujian for centuries. The People's Republic of China has persecution of Christians. Unregistered Catholics are controlled tightly in the province. A house church in Pingtan in Fujian province was demolished in 2006.

Christianity is a minority in Hebei province of China. The Shouters are present in the province. China has persecution of Christians. A significant minority of the Catholics of China is in Hebei. Bishop Yao Liang was from Hebei. Guo Jincai has been made a bishop of Chengde in Hebei without consent of the pope. Roman Catholic bishop Jia Zhiguo was arrested in 2008. Catholic bishops Su Zhimin and Shi Enxiang from Hebei have been sent to prison by 2010. Beifang Jinde is a charitable Catholic institution in Shijiazhuang.

Christianity is a minority in Yunnan province of China. The Shouters are present in the province. There are more than a million Protestants in the province. Yunnan has persecution of Christians. Fugong has a Christian majority. Nujiang has a notable Christian minority. Many of the A-Hmao and Eastern Lipo are Christians. Yunnan has Hmong Churches and many Lisu Churches. Han Chinese are a minority among the Christians in the province.

Christianity is a minority in Sichuan province of the People's Republic of China. Eastern Lipo, Kadu people and A-Hmao are ethnic groups present in the province. Mgr Artus de Lionne became apostolic prefect of Sichuan in 1696. Chengdu has a seminary. On June, 20th, 2009, the police in Langzhong set free 18 house church leaders arrested on June, 9th. A Sichuan Theological College exists. the Catholic population of the province is estimated at 250,000 persons. In 1950 it was estimated there were more than 50,000 Protestants in Sichuan, meeting in hundreds of churches and chapels.

Christianity is a minority in Guangdong, a province of China. The province has more Christians than it has Muslims. Christianity in Hong Kong enjoys more liberty.
