Christine Cushing is a Canadian celebrity chef and television program host. Her television debut took place in May 1998 when she was working at a small food company and a TV producer approached her, asking her to audition for one of his new shows. [1] [2] She hosted Christine Cushing Live and Dish It Out on Food Network Canada, [1] and Fearless in the Kitchen on the Oprah Winfrey network in Canada.
She is the resident chef on CTV's The Marilyn Denis Show in Canada. Cushing has teamed up with food brand Furlani and demonstrated how to use their products in different recipes, such as Pulled Pork on Furlani Garlic Texas Toast. [3]
Born in Athens, Greece, Cushing moved to Canada with her family when she was one. [4] Interested in cooking at a very young age, Cushing practiced cooking and baking as a child. [2] She studied linguistics at the University of Toronto and graduated from the Food and Beverage Management program at George Brown College in 1986. [5]
Cushing graduated top of her class in the Grand Diplôme program at the École de Cuisine La Varenne in Paris. [6] [1] She has worked at Four Seasons Hotels, Magna International, the King Ranch Health Spa, and Toronto's Scaramouche restaurant, as a pastry chef. [6] She was a teacher at the Kitchen Studio, had her own cooking school, and created recipes for places such as Gusto magazine, Starbucks, and Ace Bakery. Cushing has also performed food demonstrations for KitchenAid Canada, Northern Telecom, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. [6] She has spoken at the Cook for the Cure breast cancer campaign, was thought to be a superhero at Starbright Foundation for sick kids hospital, and is now a judge for the Gold Medal Plate annual fundraiser for the Olympic committee as well as an advocate of the Children's Breakfast Clubs. She has written three cookbooks and has a line of artisan food products: extra virgin olive oil from Greece, tomato sauces handmade in Canada, and roasted red pepper spreads.[ citation needed ]

Sundubu-jjigae (Korean: 순두부찌개) is a jjigae in Korean cuisine. The dish is made with freshly curdled extra soft tofu (sundubu) which has not been strained and pressed, vegetables, sometimes mushrooms, onion, optional seafood, optional meat, and gochujang or gochugaru. The dish is assembled and cooked directly in the serving vessel, which is traditionally made of thick, robust porcelain, but can also be ground out of solid stone. A raw egg can be put in the jjigae just before serving, and the dish is delivered while bubbling vigorously. It is typically eaten with a bowl of cooked white rice and several banchan.

Cutthroat Kitchen is an American cooking show hosted by Alton Brown that aired on the Food Network from August 11, 2013 to July 19, 2017. It features four chefs competing in a three-round elimination cooking competition. The contestants face auctions in which they can purchase opportunities to sabotage one another. Each chef is given $25,000 at the start of the show; the person left standing keeps whatever money they have not spent in the auctions. The show ended on its 15th season in July 2017. The series shares some basic elements with other four-chef, three-round elimination-style competitions on Food Network including Chopped and Guy's Grocery Games. Numerous Cutthroat Kitchen contestants have competed on these shows.

Lillian Borromeo, commonly referred to as Atching Lillian, is a Filipino food historian and chef, best known for her dedication to preserving Filipino heirloom recipes and old methods of food preparation, especially those belonging to Kapampangan cuisine. She turned the old kitchen in her ancestral home in Mexico, Pampanga, into an open-air buffet restaurant that can accommodate up to a little over 50 diners; named Kusinang Matua, it is where she cooks and serves her collected heirloom recipes, and where she has on display cooking implements used by several generations of chefs. The ancestral house itself has been serving as the studio for her cooking vlog titled Cucina Cu, Cucina Mu, started during the COVID-19 pandemic.
