Christopher D. Lewis COM (born 1957) was a career police officer and former Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police. [1] He retired from the position on March 29,2014. [2]
Born in Sault Ste. Marie,Ontario,Lewis has been with the Ontario Provincial Police since 1978. His first posting was as a constable in Kapuskasing,Ontario. He was promoted through the ranks. [3]
He was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Field Operations by Fantino effective January 1,2007. As Deputy Commissioner,Lewis oversaw the creation of the OPP's aboriginal policing bureau and has studied aboriginal government and law. [1] He has been in charge of the OPP's operation managing the conflict between Native protesters and non-Native residents in Caledonia throughout his tenure as deputy commissioner. [1]
Lewis' appointment was announced in July 2010 and became effective on August 1.
Lewis is a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico,Virginia, [4] as well as of a course in Homicide from the Harvard Associates in Police Science Homicide,Aboriginal Government and Law program at Athabasca University and is also a graduate of the Applied Management program at Northwood University. Lewis is married to OPP Chief Superintendent (Field Support Bureau and formerly Central Region) Angie Howe. He has two adult daughters with his ex-wife. [4]

He was the Conservative Party of Canada Member of the Parliament of Canada for the riding of Vaughan following a November 29,2010 by-election,until his defeat in 2015. On January 4,2011,Fantino was named Minister of State for Seniors;on May 18,2011,he became Associate Minister of National Defence;on July 4,2012,he was named Minister for International Cooperation. Fantino served as the Minister of Veterans Affairs from 2013 until 2015,when he was demoted to his earlier post of Associate Minister of National Defence following sustained criticism of his performance at Veterans Affairs. He was defeated by Liberal candidate Francesco Sorbara in the 2015 election.

A former lawyer and police officer,she was the commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from 1998 to 2006. Boniface was appointed to the Senate was announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on October 31,2016. Boniface is the first woman to serve as OPP commissioner.

David J. Boothby is a retired Canadian police officer who served as the final chief of the Metro Toronto Police from 1995 to 1997,before the position was amalgamated into the Toronto Police Service. He served as chief until his retirement in 2000.
