Christopher 'Topa' Kent (born 25 November 1991) is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. Kent is a right-handed batsman who bowls leg break. He attended Marist College Ashgrove in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and played his senior cricket at Norths Cricket Club in Brisbane.

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 20-metre (22-yard) pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at the wicket with the bat, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this and dismiss each player. Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground. When ten players have been dismissed, the innings ends and the teams swap roles. The game is adjudicated by two umpires, aided by a third umpire and match referee in international matches. They communicate with two off-field scorers who record the match's statistical information.

Kent was a part of the Papua New Guinea squad for the 2011 World Cricket League Division Three, featuring in six matches and helping them earn promotion to the 2011 World Cricket League Division Two. It was in this tournament that he made his List A debut against Bermuda. He played a further 4 List A matches in the competition, the last coming against Hong Kong. [1] In his 5 matches in the competition, he scored 101 runs at a batting average of 20.20, with a single half century score of 59, [2] which came against Hong Kong. [3] He was the leading run-scorer at the 2011 under-19 cricket World Cup qualifier. He finished with 474 runs for the tournament and a high score of 166 not out against Canada. He was also the captain of the PNG u-19 side for the 2011 u-19 cricket world cup qualifiers. Kent was also selected for the PNG men's senior side to compete in the global 20/20 qualifiers in March 2012. He played three matches and scored 42 runs at an average of 42.00.

The team is organised by Cricket PNG, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1973. Papua New Guinea previously had One Day International (ODI) status, which it gained by finishing fourth in 2014 World Cup Qualifier. Papua New Guinea lost both their ODI and T20I status in March 2018 after losing a playoff match against Nepal during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, a result that earned ODI and T20I status for their opponents. On 26 April 2019, at the final World Cricket League 2 fixture; PNG defeated Oman to finish at the fourth position and reclaim their ODI status.

The 2011 ICC World Cricket League Division Three was a cricket tournament that took place between 22–29 January 2011. It formed part of the ICC World Cricket League. Hong Kong hosted the event and also ran out winners.

The 2011 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was a cricket tournament that took place between 8–15 April 2011. It formed part of the ICC World Cricket League and qualifying for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. The United Arab Emirates hosted the event. The matches in the competition had List A status.

The 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship was the second edition of the ICC World Cricket League Championship. It took place from 2015 until 2017, in parallel with the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier

The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It decided the final qualification for the 2019 World Cup, to be played in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Afghanistan's Mohammad Shahzad was named the player of the match and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza was named the player of the tournament.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested between six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.
