Cicada is an upcoming Indian survival thriller film, made in Malayalam language. Written and directed by debutant Sreejith Edavana, the film stars Rajith CR, Gayathry Mayoora and Jaise Jose in lead roles. [2] [3] Also made in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages, [4] [5] the film is expected to release on 9 August, 2024. [6]

Summary

Cicada is the survival story [7] of an unscrupulous man, who had a journey through the jungle, finds out a tough and harsh truth about the only law: hunt to satisfy hunger. The surprise is, the hunter will become the hunted, if the hunt is to serve other desires, other than hunger.

Production

Sreejith Edavana, known as a music composer was launched as film director with Cicada, simultaneously made in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. [8] The Malayalam first look poster was launched by Actor Tovino Thomas, while Actors Meghana Raj Sarja and Prajwal Devaraj released the Kannada Poster. [4] The shooting of the film was completed at the locations of Bangalore, Wayanad, Kochi and Attapadi. [9] Sreejith Edavana composed 24 tracks, 6 each for all the 4 languages. The six tracks have been altered for each language to cater to the local sensibilities and cultural essence of each region. [10] [9] [11]
