ETV Network is a network of Telugu language news and entertainment satellite television channels in India. It is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It also had some non Telugu-language satellite television channels. All non-Telugu satellite television channels were acquired by Reliance Industries-owned TV18 for ₹2,053 crore in FY 2014–15 and later rebranded. [1] [2]
The Hyderabad daily newspaper Eenadu (Telugu for 'today') started its own Telugu language channel named Eenadu TV on 27 August 1995. [3]
The flagship company ETPL launched four new television channels in November 2015 – namely ETV Life – a health and wellness channel, ETV Abhiruchi, a cookery channel, ETV Plus – an entertainment and reality channel, and ETV Cinema – a movie channel in Telugu language. In May 2014, ETV2 and ETV3 were renamed to ETV Andhra Pradesh and ETV Telangana respectively. [4]
On 27 December 2018, the network launched ETV Plus HD, ETV Life HD, ETV Abhiruchi HD, and ETV Cinema HD. [5]
The network also added regional channels in other Indian languages and built a large local news network using ETV brand after success in the Telugu-speaking region. Ramoji Group sold its non Telugu language TV assets to TV18 in January 2014 with a permission to use ETV brand name.
In March 2015, TV18's Viacom18 decided to rebrand all five non-Telugu language ETV regional general entertainment channels. ETV Marathi, ETV Gujarati, ETV Kannada, ETV Bangla and ETV Odia were rebranded into Colors Marathi, Colors Gujarati, Colors Kannada, Colors Bangla and Colors Odia, respectively. [6]
In March 2018, non-Telugu language TV assets of TV18 still using the ETV brand were rebranded as part of the News18 network.
In April 2016, ETV network added three more regional news channels catering to the audience of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and North East under the brand name of News18. The channels are named News18 Kerala, News18 Tamil Nadu and News18 Assam-NE.

Tara Newz was an Indian Bengali-language satellite and cable 24-hour news and current affairs television channel owned by the Saradha Group, a chit fund company. It was launched on 21 February 2005, airing regional news coverages, after being split from Tara Bangla, which was launched on 28 April 2000. Tara Newz was targeted to Bengali-speaking audiences in both India and Bangladesh. It is broadcast from Tara's headquarters in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Due to financial reasons, the channel was shut down in 2013.
Gemini TV is an Indian Telugu language general entertainment pay television channel owned by Sun TV Network. It is the first satellite TV channel in Telugu. It was launched on 9 February 1995 by the Gemini Group of Hyderabad, in association with Sun TV Network. In 1996-97, Sun TV Network acquired a controlling interest in the channel. The channel's programming consists of serials, films, film-based programs and game shows alongside some reality shows. Gemini TV HD was launched on 11 December 2011.
TV9 Telugu is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel focusing on the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It formally launched on 1 February 2004 with a 15-day trial run before the formal launch. It is headquartered in Hyderabad. Along with its rival ETV2, it is the oldest 24-hour news channel in Telugu.

ETV Andhra Pradesh is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel focusing on the state of Andhra Pradesh. The channel was launched by the media conglomerate ETV Network owned by Ramoji Group on 28 December 2003 as ETV2. Along with its rival TV9 Telugu, it is the oldest 24-hour news channel in Telugu. In May 2014, after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the channel was renamed as ETV Andhra Pradesh, while the then recently launched ETV3 channel was renamed as ETV Telangana.
