Colors Bangla (previously known as ETV Bangla) is an Indian general entertainment pay television channel broadcasting in Bengali language. [1] It was launched in 2000 as ETV Bangla, owned by the Hyderabad-based ETV Network. It was later sold to TV18 and was rebranded under the Colors moniker. [2]

History

The channel aired the Filmfare Awards East 2017. [3] The channel was re-branded under the Viacom18 Colors franchise on 1 April 2015. [4] [1] [2] Colors Bangla started their HD channel from 2 May 2016 along with the HD versions of Colors Kannada and Colors Marathi. On 30 August 2021 6:30 PM IST, on account of Janmashtami it rebranded and introduced new graphics after almost 5+12 years, where it is not only pink colour, but also with violet swoosh, and the wordmark 'Bangla' is now of white colour instead of red colour and the red colour is bordering the 'Bangla' wordmark. The channel changed its tagline to 'Notun Shopner Rong'.

Mahalaya

Colors Bangla is hosting its Mahalaya since 2000. Various television and films actresses are seen in different forms of Maa Durga. Even various television actors are seen as Shiv, Vishnu, Brahmma, Mahishasur. It also shows dance performance where dancers will dance in a song welcoming the arrival of Goddess. It hosted its first mahalaya in 2000 and Dancer-Actress Sudha Chandran for the first time was seen as Mahishasuramardini.[ citation needed ]

Colors Bangla Cinema is an Indian pay television movie channel broadcasting in Bengali language owned by Viacom18. It was launched in February 2019. [10] [11] Indian Super League (ISL) Season 10 is being broadcast on Colors Bangla Cinema with Bangla commentary.

Manali Dey is an Indian television actress. She made her acting debut in the Bengali film Kali Aamar Maa in 1999. Later she made her television debut in the television serial Neer Bhanga Jhor and is very popular for her role as Mouri in Star Jalsha's Bou Kotha Kao.

Bigg Boss was the Bengali-language version of the reality TV programme Bigg Boss broadcast in India. It follows the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands. The show had completed 2 seasons in 4 years. The first season launched on 17 June 2013 and second season was launched on 4 April 2016. However the show has been discontinued after season 2.

She started her career while she was studying in college. Afterwards, she starred as Aalo Moitra in the TV serial Bodhu Kon Alo Laaglo Chokhe which aired on Star Jaisha. She is known for portraying the character of Rani Rashmoni in the Bengali television series Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni. Debottam Majumdar is a Bengali television actor. He started his career in acting by performing in Bengali soap opera series Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti. He is well known for playing the male lead role of Shona babu as the protagonist in Keya Patar Nouko.
