News24 is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable pay television channel dedicated to news programming. It began broadcasts on 28 July 2016, and is owned by East West Media Group, a subsidiary of Bashundhara Group. News24 is based in the Bashundhara Residential Area in Baridhara. [1] News24 added an HD Channel on 1 February 2021.

History

In November 2013, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission granted Bashundhara Group's East West Media Group a broadcasting license to operate News24. [2] It received its frequency allocation in January 2015. [3] Its logo was officially revealed in February 2016. [4] The channel began test broadcasts on 26 March 2016. [5] , and officially went on the air on 28 July 2016. [6] NEWS24 Added an HD Channel on 1 February 2021. On 26 March 2021, News24 changed its logo.

Organisation

Sayem Sobhan is the managing director of News24. [7] [8] Shahnaz Munni is the chief news editor. [9] Naem Nizam was the CEO of this tv channel since its starting telecast. On Nov, 2021 he was relieved from his position. [10]

Channel 9 is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Virgo Media Limited. It was granted a broadcasting license by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission among other privately owned Bangladeshi television channels on 20 October 2009. It began its test transmission on 8 April 2011. The channel airs sports and entertainment programming, and formerly aired news until the closure of its news division in 2019. It had the rights to broadcast the Bangladesh Premier League and La Liga.

Channel 16 was a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable music oriented television channel, owned and operated by Insight Telecast. The channel was permitted to broadcast via a Singaporean satellite and officially began broadcasting on 16 December 2011.

It began broadcasting on 15 April 2010, and is based in Hatirjheel, Dhaka. My TV was founded by late Omeda Begum as a goal to spread the Bengali language and culture. Its programming consists of news, movies, dramas, religious, political talk shows, magic and music.

Channel 24 is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable channel airing programming relating to news and current affairs, owned by Times Media Limited, a subsidiary of the Ha-meem Group. The channel was licensed in February 2010 by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. It began test transmissions on 22 August 2011, and was officially launched on 24 May 2012.

GTV, also known as Gazi Television, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Gazi Group and based in Segun Bagicha in Dhaka. It received its broadcasting license from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, along with several other privately owned Bangladeshi television channels, on 20 October 2009. officially began broadcasting on 12 June 2012. Coinciding its third anniversary in 2015, GTV adopted a new logo and slogan, "Ja Dekhte Chan, Paben".

Bangladesh Pratidin is a daily, Bengali-language independent newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded on 15 March 2010. Bangladesh Pratidin tops the list of highest circulated dailies in the country out of 345 newspapers published from Dhaka and elsewhere, the information minister told parliament 10 March 2014. Its editor is Naem Nizam. Bangladesh Pratidin is a subsidiary of East-west media group which is owned by Bashundhara Group. On behalf of east west media group the publisher of the Newspaper is Moynal Hossain Chowdhury.

Deepto TV Bangladeshi television channel

Deepto TV is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel, owned and operated by Kazi Media Limited, a subsidiary of Kazi Farms Group. It officially began broadcasts on 18 November 2015, and within two weeks became the most watched television channel in Bangladesh. Its programming mostly consist of entertainment with emphasis on daily drama series. Deepto also broadcasts foreign programming, mainly Turkish drama series.

Naem Nizam is a Bangladeshi journalist and is the editor of daily Bangladesh Pratidin, the largest circulated Bengali language daily in Bangladesh. He is the director of East West Media Group. He is the former CEO of News24 and Radio Capital.

Ekattor Bangladeshi television news channel

Ekattor is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable news television channel owned by the Meghna Group of Industries, commencing transmissions on 21 June 2012, as Bangladesh's first news-oriented television channel broadcasting in full HD. The channel broadcasts from its headquarters in the Sohrawardi Avenue of Baridhara.

Mostafa Kamal Mohiuddin is the chairman of the Media Group. Novelist and former editor of Kaler Kantho Imdadul Haq Milan is the brand ambassador of the Media Group. Naem Nizam is Director of the group.

Radio Capital is a radio station based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bangladeshi journalist Naem Nizam was the founder CEO of this station.

DBC News Television channel

DBC News is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable news television channel, owned and operated by Dhaka Bangla Media & Communication Ltd. The Chairman of the channel is Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, fomer Media Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Managing Director is Sahidul Ahsan and CEO & Editor in Chief is Monjurul Islam.

Duronto TV Bengali-language childrens channel

Duronto TV is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable children's television channel, and the first of its kind in the country. It was initially licensed in 2013 as "Renaissance TV", but was later renamed to its current name. The channel began test broadcasts on 5 October 2017, and later commenced official broadcasts ten days later on 15 October 2017.

Bijoy TV Bangladeshi satellite TV channel

Bijoy TV is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel based in Banglamotor, Dhaka. This channel was established by former mayor of Chittagong A. B. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury. Current Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is one of the shareholders and is the former managing director of Bijoy TV.

Nagorik (TV channel) Bangladeshi TV channel

Nagorik is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by Jadoo Media Limited, and is based in Khilkhet, Dhaka. It began operations on 1 March 2018, with the slogan, "Television Noy, Somporko". Nagorik claims that they do not compete with local Bangladeshi television channels, and instead compete with foreign television channels by working with the local ones.

Ananda TV Bengali television channel

Ananda TV, also known by its acronym ATV, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel headquartered in the Chairman Bari neighborhood of Banani in Dhaka, which commenced official transmissions on 11 March 2018 with the "Hridoyer Kotha Bole" slogan. The channel's programming consists of both news and entertainment.

Nexus Television Bangladeshi non-fiction television channel

Nexus Television is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable infotainment television channel owned by S. Alam Group of Industries. It was launched on 30 July 2021 as the country's first non-fiction infotainment television channel. Unlike other television channels in Bangladesh, the channel does not air drama, movies, and news programming.

Global Television (Bangladeshi TV channel) Bangladeshi satellite television channel

Global Television is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Globe Multimedia Limited, a subsidiary of Globe Pharma Group of Companies. It commenced official broadcasts on 30 June 2022 with the "Bishwamay Protidin" slogan, and is based in Tejgaon, Dhaka. The channel's programming consists of both entertainment and news.
