News24 is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable pay television channel dedicated to news programming. It began broadcasts on 28 July 2016, and is owned by East West Media Group (EWMG), a subsidiary of Bashundhara Group. News24 is based in the Bashundhara Residential Area in Baridhara. [1]

History

In November 2013, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission granted the EWMG a broadcasting license to operate News24. [2] It received its frequency allocation in January 2015. [3] Its logo was officially revealed in February 2016. [4] The channel began test broadcasts on 26 March 2016. [5] News24 was one of the nine Bangladeshi television channels to sign an agreement with Bdnews24.com to subscribe to a video-based news agency run by children called Prism in May 2016. [6] The channel officially went on the air on 28 July 2016. [7] News24 commenced high-definition broadcasts on 1 February 2021. News24 revamped its logo on 26 March 2021.[ citation needed ]

Sayem Sobhan is the managing director of News24. [8] [9] Shahnaz Munni is the chief news editor. [10] Naem Nizam was the CEO of this tv channel since its starting telecast. On Nov, 2021 he was relieved from his position. [11]

It officially commenced broadcasts on 26 March 2009. Desh TV is headquartered in Malibagh, Dhaka. The channel is broadcast via the Bangabandhu-1 satellite.

Nagorik is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by Jadoo Media Limited, and is based in Khilkhet, Dhaka. It began operations on 1 March 2018, with the slogan, "Television Noy, Somporko". Nagorik claims that they do not compete with local Bangladeshi television channels, and instead compete with foreign television channels by working with the local ones.

Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong, branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram, sometimes known as CTV, is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh. It is the network's first and currently the only regional television station. It was launched in 1996 and initially broadcast for one and a half hour, but the broadcast schedule significantly increased over time. It broadcasts on a full-day basis daily on both terrestrial and satellite television. BTV Chittagong started broadcasting on satellite television in 2016.
