List of television stations in Bangladesh

Around 46 privately owned television channels were permitted by the Government of Bangladesh as of 2023, [1] of which thirty-six are currently on air. Six television channels, namely STV-US, CSB News, Channel 1, Diganta Television, Islamic TV, and Channel 16, have been taken off air. Bangladesh has four state-owned television stations, of which only three broadcast on terrestrial television, which are BTV Dhaka, BTV Chittagong, and Sangsad Television. In total, there are 50 television channels in Bangladesh, with 40 currently on air.

As of today, Bangladesh has four state-owned television channels. Among them, Bangladesh Television is the oldest, founded in 1964.

Television is one of the most popular forms of media and information in Bangladesh. It was one of the first countries in South Asia to introduce television on 25 December 1964, in the then East Pakistan under the state-owned television network Pakistan Television Corporation in its capital, Dhaka. After the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, the Dhaka television station of PTV was renamed to Bangladesh Television, which had a monopoly on the country's television industry until 1997, with the launch of ATN Bangla on satellite television. Since then, the number of privately owned television channels saw a tremendous rise in the Bangladeshi television market.

Somoy TV, also known as just Somoy as branded on-air, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable news television channel. It is based in the Nasir Trade Centre at Bir Uttam CR Dutta Road in Dhaka. Somoy is primarily owned by City Group.

Sangsad Bangladesh Television, often known as Sangsad Television, branded on-air as Sangsad Bangladesh, is a Bangladeshi state-owned parliamentary television channel, which is the sister of Bangladesh Television. The channel is owned by Gazi Group, which is owned by Golam Dastagir Gazi, EX Frude former minister and member of the Bangladesh Awami League party.

BTV World is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by the state-owned Bangladesh Television. It began operations on 11 April 2004 via the AsiaSat 3 satellite. It simulcasts the broadcasts of BTV Dhaka for most of its schedule, which then simulcasts BTV World's broadcasts during the off-air hours of its terrestrial feed.

It was initially licensed in 2013 as "Renaissance TV", but was later renamed to its current name. The channel began test broadcasts on 5 October 2017, and later commenced official broadcasts ten days later on 15 October 2017.

Nagorik is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel owned by Jadoo Media Limited, and is based in Khilkhet, Dhaka. It began operations on 1 March 2018, with the slogan, "Television Noy, Somporko". Nagorik claims that they do not compete with local Bangladeshi television channels, and instead compete with foreign television channels by working with the local ones.

Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong, branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram, sometimes known as CTV, is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh. It is the network's first and currently the only regional television station. It was launched in 1996 and initially broadcast for one and a half hours, but the broadcast schedule significantly increased over time. It broadcasts on a full-day basis daily on both terrestrial and satellite television.

It is yet to be converted into a regional television station, although an initiative to do so was taken in 1991. BTV Sylhet is headquartered in the Kazitula neighborhood of the city.
