Jamuna Group is one of the largest Bangladeshi industrial conglomerates. [1] It operates in a range of industry sectors, including Textiles, Chemicals, Leather, motor cycles, [2] Consumer products, Media and Advertisement. [3]

The Jamuna Group was established in the 1970s by Nurul Islam Babul, who was an architect by training. Best known for founding the Jamuna Group and building the Jamuna Future Park, Babul was also the owner of the Bangla daily Jugantor and the television channel Jamuna TV. [4] [5] [6]

The Jamuna group has lately taken to philanthropy by setting up a non-profit organization (NPO) to alleviate the condition of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The group has donated ($5,000,000) to the NPO.

Jamuna Future Park is a shopping mall in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was inaugurated on 6 September 2013. Construction began in 2002, by Jamuna Builders Ltd., a subsidiary of the Jamuna Group and the exterior was completed in 2008. It has a total floor area of 4,100,000 square feet (380,000 m2). It is the biggest shopping mall in South Asia, and the 24th biggest mall in the world.

The Dhaka Metro Rail, or simply the Dhaka Metro, is a mass rapid transit system serving Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is owned and operated by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL). Together with the under construction Dhaka BRT, proposed Dhaka Subway and Dhaka suburban circular rail, it is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city. The metro rail network has five planned lines which are the MRT Line 6, the only operational line, MRT Line 1 and 5, which are under construction, and MRT Line 2 and MRT Line 4, which are in the planning stages. It is part of the Strategic Transport Plan outlined by the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA).

Bashundhara Group is a Bangladeshi conglomerate and one of the largest manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. It was incorporated in 1987 as a real estate company under the name East West Property Development Ltd (EWPD). After its first project turned out to be successful, the company grew quickly. It presently owns more than 50 major concerns located throughout Bangladesh. The company's import-export turnover was $1.12 billion or BDT 111.38 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year. In the 2018 fiscal year, the company's real estate holdings amounted to BDT 50,000 crores, or $4.6 billion.

Khurshid Alam Babul is a prominent former Bangladeshi footballer of the 1970 and the 80s. An attacking midfielder he achieved most of his laurels while playing for Abahani KC in the Dhaka League during his 10-year spell with the club starting in 1977. He won league titles with Abahani in 1977, 1981, 1983, 1984 and 1985. In 1987 he won the title with MSC. Thus he jloined an elite list of players who had won the Dhaka league title both the giants. He was a prominent footballer for the Bangladesh national football team during the early years of football in the country.
