East West Media Group PLC is a media conglomerate located in Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is a subsidiary of Bashundhara Group. [1] [2] Mostafa Kamal Mohiuddin is the chairman of the Media Group. [3] Novelist and former editor of Kaler Kantho Imdadul Haq Milan is the brand ambassador of the Media Group. [4] Naem Nizam is Director of the group. [5]

The company was established in 2009. [1] In 2016, the company was awarded by the National Board of Revenue for being a high tax payer. [6] [7]

Kaler Kantho is one of the most popular Bengali newspapers in Bangladesh. It is an enterprise of East West Media Group (EWMG), a sister concern of Bangladesh's leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group. The same group owns Bangladesh Pratidin, Daily Sun, News24, Radio Capital and Banglanews24.

Bashundhara Group is a Bangladeshi conglomerate and one of the largest manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. It was incorporated in 1987 as a real estate company under the name East West Property Development Ltd (EWPD). After its first project turned out to be successful, the company grew quickly. It presently owns more than 50 major concerns throughout Bangladesh. The company's import-export turnover was $1.12 billion or BDT 111.38 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year. In the 2018 fiscal year, the company's real estate holdings amounted to BDT 50,000 crores, or $4.6 billion.

Shahid Hasan, known by professionally as Misha Sawdagor, is a Bangladeshi film actor known for playing villains. As of 2020, according to him, he has performed in more than 700 films. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards 3 times for his roles in the films Boss Number One (2011), Olpo Olpo Premer Golpo (2014) and Bir (2020). He first got noticed as a villain in the 1995 film Asha Bhalobasha starring Salman Shah. After Shah's death, he continued playing the villain opposite other actors, but failed to achieve any mainstream success or recognition. From 2006 onwards he started playing the main antagonist in a long string of hit movies starring Shakib Khan in the lead role and mostly Apu Biswas as the lead actress, and established himself as a leading antagonist in the Cinema of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Pratidin is a Bengali-language independent daily newspaper in Bangladesh. It was founded on 15 March 2010. Bangladesh Pratidin tops the list of highest circulated dailies in the country out of 345 newspapers published from Dhaka and elsewhere, the information minister told parliament 10 March 2014. Abu Taher is the Acting Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin. Bangladesh Pratidin is a subsidiary of East West Media Group (EWMG), which is owned by Bashundhara Group. On behalf of EWMG, the publisher of the newspaper is Moynal Hossain Chowdhury.

Banglanews24.com is an online news portal in Bangladesh. The website, along with the Daily Sun, Bangladesh Pratidin, and Kaler Kantho, are owned by East West Media Group, a concern of the Bashundhara Group. Alexa ranked the website 2620 worldwide and 15th in Bangladesh.

Sania Sultana Liza is a Bangladeshi singer. Her songs have been featured in different albums and films. She was the winner of the musical reality show Close Up-1 at NTV in 2008. She served as the chief judge in the reality show, RTV's Young Star Season 2, 2023 themed Gola Chhere Gao.

News24, stylized as NEWS24, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable pay television channel dedicated to news programming. It began broadcasts on 28 July 2016 and is owned by East West Media Group, a subsidiary of Bashundhara Group. News24 is based in the Bashundhara Residential Area in Baridhara.

Radio Capital is a radio station based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bangladeshi journalist Naem Nizam was the founder CEO of the radio station.

Sports Hub Bangladesh is an annual conference of sports governing body personnel, sports professionals, organizers, sports personalities and sports enthusiasts. The goal of the initiative is to bring together all the stakeholders of the Bangladesh sports industry and give them a platform to network. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Nuruzzaman Nayan</span> Bangladeshi association football player and coach

Nuruzzaman Nayan is a Bangladeshi retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and is the goalkeeping coach of Bashundhara Kings. As the first-ever Bangladeshi goalkeeping coach, he has achieved Goalkeeping Level 1 in 2016 in Nepal, Goalkeeping Level 2 in 2019 in Australia, and obtained a Goalkeeping A Diploma in 2024 in Malaysia. This is the first time a goalkeeper coach from Bangladesh has received such a highest-level certificate. He was the goalkeeper coach of Bangladesh in 2021 SAFF Championship.
