CSB News, acronym of Chronus Satellite Broadcast [1] was Bangladesh's first, albeit short-lived, 24-hour news & current affairs channel. It started broadcasting test transmissions from March 24, 2007 and started commercially broadcasting from April 9, 2007.[ citation needed ]
On August 23, 2007 the Ministry of Information of Bangladesh had asked the Ekushey Television (ETV) and Csb Multimedia Company Limited (CSB) to refrain from telecasting any provocative news, documentaries, talk shows and discussions against the government. [2] On Thursday, September 6, 2007, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission officially shut down transmission of the channel. [3] [4]
Bangladesh Television, commonly known by its acronym BTV, is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of PTV in 1964. It is the oldest Bengali-language television network in the world, and is the sister to the radio broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, which, along with BTV, are both owned and operated by the government.

Bangladesh Betar, or BB is the state-owned radio broadcaster of Bangladesh, initially established as the Dhaka station of All India Radio in 1939. It was later made part of Radio Pakistan. After the independence of the country in 1971, Radio Pakistan ceased transmissions there and the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was renamed to Bangladesh Betar, which took full control of all radio stations in the country at the time.

The channel began broadcasting on 15 July 1997. ATN Bangla is broadcast in over 130 countries worldwide.
Channel One was a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable pay television channel. It applied for a broadcasting license on 5 January 2005, which the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission granted them on 31 January of that year. It started broadcasting on 24 January 2006 from its studio in Uday Tower, Gulshan, Dhaka. It was owned by One Entertainment Limited, a sister concern of One Group. Channel One was an infotainment channel. It ceased broadcasting on 27 April 2010.

Bangladesh Television Chattogram or Bangladesh Television Chittagong, branded on-air as BTV Chittagong or BTV Chattogram, sometimes known as CTV, is a BTV-affiliated television station broadcast from Chittagong, serving southeastern Bangladesh. It is the network's first and currently the only regional television station. It was launched in 1996 and initially broadcast for one and a half hour, but the broadcast schedule significantly increased over time. It broadcasts on a full-day basis daily on both terrestrial and satellite television. BTV Chittagong started broadcasting on satellite television in 2016. It is also a nationwide terrestrial television station along with BTV Dhaka and Sangsad Television, as it reaches 75% of the area of Bangladesh terrestrially.
STV-US was a Bangladeshi Bengali-language television channel headquartered in Queens, New York City. The chairman of the TV was Hannan Firoze, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University till 2007 when it was closed down. Fatinaaz Feroz, present chairman of Stamford University, served as the President of STV-US from 2004 to 2007, when it was closed. Naem Nizam, later editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, was the managing director of the channel.
