The Odia cinema, colloquially known as Ollywood, is the Odia language Indian film industry, based in Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack in Odisha, India. The name Ollywood is a portmanteau of the words Odia and Hollywood.
Kalishankar or Kalisankar is a bilingual action drama film in Odia and Bengali language by director Prashanta Nanda in 2007. Kalishankar is quite similar to old Manmohan Desai films wherein brothers separated in childhood grow up to find themselves on two sides of the fence. Then, when they recognise their blood link through a birthmark or a talisman, they join forces to fight the enemy together. Kalishankar is a story of a pair of grandchildren and their grandfather's revenge on their wrongdoers. The film has much stick-wielding action.

The duo debuted with their first film Shudhu Tumi, and then they made several films in varied genres. However, they are known to make urban middle-class romantic comedy films. They worked with Abir Chatterjee, who debuted in their film Cross Connection in 2009. They came into prominence after their critically acclaimed film Teen Yaari Kotha. Teen Yaari Katha was showcased in the competition section of Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in 2012. It travelled to the Bangkok International Film as well as Kolkata International Film Festival. Their film Bapi bari jaa is considered a cult classic among the Bangla film lovers. It also marked the debut of Arjun Chakraborty and MP Mimi Chakraborty in the Bangla film industry.
Punyi Pukur was a Bengali television soap that premiered on 7 December 2015 On Star Jalsha and aired every day at 9:30 PM IST. It was produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures, and starred Monami Ghosh and Koushik Roy in lead roles and Aparajita Adhya, Bharat Kaul and Anushree Das among others in prominent supporting roles; while Debaparna Chakraborty essayed a negative role. The show replaced the popular show Jol Nupur. Alongside Guddi, this is a very regressive serial produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures as its plotline centers around polygamy, abuse of women, and excessive negativity.

The show was produced by Shibaji Panja of Vandana Films and Enterprises. Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta played cameo roles in this serial.
