Khorkuto is a 2020 Indian Bengali-language romantic comedy drama television series that premiered on 17 August 2020 [1] and airs on Bengali General Entertainment Channel Star Jalsha and is also available on the digital platform Disney+ Hotstar. [2] The show is produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures of Saibal Banerjee and Leena Gangopadhyay and starred Trina Saha Bhattacharya and Koushik Roy. [3] The show's plotline and characters seem to have been heavily inspired from a previous show produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures, Kojagori .

Plot

Gungun, a sophisticated upper-class girl, crosses paths with Soujanyo, a scholar who belongs to a middle-class joint family, and everything changes. Apart from a beautiful love story, ‘Khorkuto’ narrates the tale of a joint family, its roots and beliefs. After a few meetings with Soujanyo, Gungun's father decides to marry Gungun off with Soujanyo to teach her morals and ethics.Gungun and soujanyo signed in a deal where they will live with each other for one year.After one year when gungun will passed in her exam ,they will get divorced.Although Gungun is a little ill-mannered, she is very good at heart and gets deserved love from Soujanyo' s family. She becomes a part of the family and stands by them through all their difficulties.The family members also loved gungun from heart.Gungun,potka,Misti,riju,chini and rupanjan decided to go for a picnic.They offered sounanyo to go with them but he rejected.They all went to the picnic where they make fun with soujanyo that gungun has high fever .Babin (soujanyo) went their immediately and found that it was a prank .He became furious which hurt potka and he left the house.Soujanyo said sorry to potka and returned home with him.Sukollan ,who was the lover of putupishi returned after a long time and it revealed that jhum and debolina were not his real family.It was a misunderstanding.After various circumstances,putupishi and sukollan get married.Adil,muniya's son ,who was daughter of Boro maa and jhethau ,a Muslim came into their house with potka and gungun gungun found her real identity.She made a great bond with him which was not accepted by all the family members and sounanyo.They told gungun to leave the house for somedays.when gungun about to leave the house ,potka revealed adil's identity.Muniya is her mother (who left the house for loving a Muslim boy).The family members realized their mistake and they stopped gungun.But gungun didn't heard.Then All of them went to gungun's house to convince him and Gungun forgive them. The show came to an end on 21 August 2022 with the sudden death of Gungun and the story jumps to 25 years later when Soujanya and Gungun's son, Dr. Sourin "Ishaan" Mukherjee, an oncologist, crosses paths with Dr. Shrotoshwini "Gungun" Majumder, a therapist in the hospital, the whole family rejoice on seeing the repeating story of Soujanya and Gungun to the next generation.
