Malabika Sen (also known as Malobika Sen) (born 27 August 1967) is an Indian classical dancer, singer and actress.

Career

Sen is a trained Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer. She obtained her formal training in Kuchipudi from Sreemoyee Venkat and in Bharatnatyam from Thankamani Kutty. [2] [3] She is one of the empaneled solo artist of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi at ICCR. [4] She has performed live in almost all major platforms in India and abroad with distinction. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] She is also a senior member of Kalamandalam dance group. [12]

She is also a trained singer in North Indian classical vocal music and Nazrul Geeti under the guidance of Dr. Chameli Sarkar and Smt. Rama Basu. Some of her works includes Lag Ja Gale, Na Jeo Na, [13] Meri Jaan [14] and Eto Boro Akash. [15] She has also rendered her voice in the song Ke Bole in Bhagshesh (2018). [16] [17]

In addition, she has also starred in many Bengali films and TV soap opera. [18]

Kalamandalam Sugandhi is a Mohiniyattam dancer, choreographer and dance teacher from Kerala, India. She received several awards including Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award, Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Fellowship, Kerala Konkani Sahitya Academy Award and Kerala Kalamandalam Award.

Mangat Mulaykkal Thankamani, known by her married name Thankamani Gopinath was a prominent Indian Mohiniyattam dancer and dance teacher from Kerala. The wife and co-dancer of Guru Gopinath, she was the first student of Mohiniyattam from Kalamandalam. Thankamani is considered as one of the important icons in the history of women's progress in Kerala, who learned Mohiniyattam at a time when learning and performing dance was considered unethical for girls in Kerala. She has also starred and sung a song in the 1941 Malayalam movie Prahlada.
