The Filmfare Awards are annual awards that honour artistic and technical excellence in the Hindi-language film industry of India. The Filmfare ceremony is one of the most famous film events in India. The awards were introduced by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group in 1954, the same year as the National Film Awards. They were initially referred to as the "Clare Awards" or "The Clares" after Clare Mendonça, the editor of The Times of India and modelled after the Academy Awards.

Jisshu Sengupta is an Indian actor, producer, television presenter, who predominantly works in Bengali films, and also in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil films. Sengupta made his debut through a Bengali TV series, Mahaprabhu (1996) where he portrayed the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; the role gained him much recognition. The plot revolves around a hieroglyphic trail that leads the protagonist to Egypt and underneath a pyramid. The film became one of the biggest hits of 2013 and gained a strong cult following from the audience and critics. The second film of the Kakababu series, Yeti Obhijaan, released in 2017. The third film, Kakababur Protyaborton, released in 2022.

Filmfare Awards Bangla is the Bengali segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by The Times Group to honour the artistic and cinematic excellence in Bengali. The first installment of the awards were held for Bengali, Assamese and Odia films in a ceremony on 29 March 2014. The award ceremony was discontinued for Two Times respectively 2013, 2015 and 2016, then again continued from 2017 and now only given to Bengali Film Industry.
