The 64th Filmfare Awards ceremony, presented by The Times Group, honored the best Indian Hindi-language films of 2018. The ceremony was held on 23 March 2019 in Mumbai. [1]

Contents

Padmaavat led the ceremony with 18 nominations, followed by Raazi with 15 nominations, Andhadhun with 11 nominations, and Badhaai Ho and Stree with 10 nominations each.

Andhadhun and Raazi won 5 awards each, thus becoming the most-awarded films at the ceremony, with the former winning Best Film (Critics) and Best Actor (Critics) (for Ayushmann Khurrana), and the latter winning Best Film, Best Director (for Meghna Gulzar), and Best Actress (for Alia Bhatt).

Badhaai Ho and Padmaavat won 4 awards each; Tumbbad and Sanju baba won 3 and 2 awards respectively, with the latter winning Best Actor (for Ranbir Kapoor). [2]

For the first time in the history of the Filmfare Awards, there was a tie for Best Supporting Actor – when Gajraj Rao for Badhaai Ho tied with Vicky Kaushal for Sanju for the award.

<i>Raazi</i> 2018 spy thriller film by Meghna Gulzar

Raazi (transl.Agreement/Secretive) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language spy thriller film directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Vineet Jain, Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banners of Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions. It stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role and features Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Shishir Sharma, and Jaideep Ahlawat in supporting roles. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's 2008 novel Calling Sehmat, a true account of an Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent who, upon her father's request, is married into a family of military officers in Pakistan to relay information to India, prior to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Principal photography of Raazi began in July 2017 in Mumbai and was completed on 27 October 2017. It was shot across several locations including Patiala, Nabha, Malerkotla and Doodhpathri.

Badhaai Ho is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Sharma, Aleya Sen and Hemant Bhandari under Chrome Pictures and Vineet Jain under Junglee Pictures. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Neena Gupta with Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri, Shardul Rana and Sanya Malhotra in supporting roles. The film tells the story of a middle-aged couple who get pregnant, much to the disappointment of their sons. Based on a script written by Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildial and a story conceived by Jyoti Kapoor.

Actors Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor and Karan Johar hosted the event. Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan introduced and concluded the awards ceremony.

The Zee Cine Awards 2019 ceremony celebrated the best of Indian Hindi-language films of 2018. The ceremony was held on 19 March 2019 at the MMDRA Ground at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai and broadcast on 31 March 2019 on Zee Cinema. The main hosts of the event were Kartik Aaryan and Vicky Kaushal, while Malaika Arora, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Aparshakti Khurana hosted a segment each.

Ayushmann Khurrana is an Indian actor, playback singer and television host who works in Hindi films. Khurrana first appeared in 2004 teen drama reality show MTV Roadies, winning the second season of the show. He went to star in many other MTV shows, including MTV Fully Faltoo Movies, Cheque De India and Jaadoo Ek Baar, and hosted multiple television shows, including India's Got Talent and Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. In 2012, he made his feature film debut with the romantic comedy Vicky Donor, about sperm donation, which received critical acclaim and performed strongly at the box office. The 20th IIFA Awards were held on 18 September 2019. For the first time in the Awards' history, the awards were held in India, Mumbai. The nominees were announced on 2019.

<i>Andhadhun</i> (soundtrack) 2018 soundtrack album by Amit Trivedi, Raftaar and Girish Nakod

Andhadhun (transl. Blindly) is the soundtrack to the 2018 Indian Hindi-language black comedy crime thriller film of the same name directed by Sriram Raghavan. The album features ten tunes; six songs, three instrumental theme tracks, alternative versions for two of the songs featured in the album. Most of the tracks were composed by Amit Trivedi, excluding one song – the title track of the film was written, composed and recorded by Raftaar and Girish Nakod. Lyrics for Trivedi's compositions were written by Jaideep Sahni and vocals for the songs in the album were provided by Trivedi, Raftaar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arijit Singh, Abhijeet Srivastava, Aakansha Sharma, Shadab Faridi and Altamash Faridi. The film score was composed by Daniel B. George. The album released on 5 September 2018 through the Zee Music Company record label.
