The 62nd Filmfare Awards ceremony, presented by the Filmfare magazine, honored the best Hindi language Indian films of 2016. The ceremony was held on 14 January 2017 and was co-hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Kapil Sharma. [1] [2]

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Udta Punjab led the ceremony with 9 nominations each, followed by Kapoor & Sons and Neerja with 8 nominations each.

Neerja won 6 awards, including Best Film (Critics) (for Ram Madhvani), Best Actress (Critics) (for Sonam Kapoor) and Best Supporting Actress (for Shabana Azmi), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.

Alia Bhatt received dual nominations for Best Actress for her performances in Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab, winning for the latter.

It was the first time that the awards held there and also IIFA returned to United States after 2014.

Amit Mishra is an Indian singer, songwriter, voice actor and live performer. He became more well known after the release of the song "Bulleya" sung by him from the film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" ; for his rendition of the song he won a Filmfare Award for new music talent, Screen Award for Best Male Playback and IIFA Award for Best Male Playback. He got nominated for the same song in different award shows. He has also sung in some of Telugu, Bengali and Marathi films.

Shadab Rayeen is Indian sound engineer. His best known work is the mix of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He has received the "Best Recording Engineer Award" in the category of Technical Awards for the mix of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil by International Indian Film Academy Awards. Shadab Rayeen Mixes and Masters all of S.S. Thaman music.

The Filmfare Short Film Awards are held annually by Worldwide Media. Started in 2016, the short film awards are a part of WWM's and Filmfare's ongoing transition onto the digital platform. These awards invite first-time as well as professional filmmakers to submit their entries, following which a panel of filmmakers judges and honours them with Filmfare Awards in five categories.

<i>Ae Dil Hai Mushkil</i> (soundtrack) 2016 soundtrack album by Pritam

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is the soundtrack album composed by Pritam, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya for the 2016 Hindi romance film of the same name directed by Karan Johar. The soundtrack album marks first collaboration of Johar and Pritam, although the latter had previously composed for the Dharma Productions' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It is based on the film's theme on unrequited love, consisting situational numbers portraying the emotions of characters Ayan, Saba, Alizeh and Ali.
