Lootera is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language period romantic drama film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and the second half is based on author O. Henry's 1907 short story The Last Leaf. It is the second film directed by Motwane after the critically acclaimed Udaan (2010). Set in the era of the 1950s, against the backdrop of the Zamindari Abolition Act by the newly independent India, it tells the story of a young conman posing as an archaeologist and the daughter of a Bengali zamindar. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl, the film features music and background score by Amit Trivedi with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and cinematography by Mahendra J. There were many performances, including those by Amit Trivedi, Papon, Badshah, Armaan Malik, Sukhwinder Singh, Jubin Nautiyal, Shalmali Kholgade, Neeti Mohan, Neha Bhasin. It was the first time that the ceremony was open to the public. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Channa Mereya". The show was broadcast on 19 March 2017 on Zee TV.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is the soundtrack album composed by Pritam, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya for the 2016 Hindi romance film of the same name directed by Karan Johar. The soundtrack album marks first collaboration of Johar and Pritam, although the latter had previously composed for the Dharma Productions' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It is based on the film's theme on unrequited love, consisting situational numbers portraying the emotions of characters Ayan, Saba, Alizeh and Ali.
