The 52nd Fair One Filmfare Awards ceremony, presented by The Times Group and Fair One, was one of India's most prestigious awards ceremonies, honoring the best Bollywood films of 2006. It took place on 17 February 2007 at the Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai. [1]

Contents

Rang De Basanti led the ceremony with 21 nominations, followed by Omkara with 17 nominations, and Lage Raho Munnabhai with 12 nominations.

Omkara won 9 awards, including Best Actress (Critics) (for Kareena Kapoor), Best Supporting Actress (for Konkona Sen Sharma) and Best Villain (for Saif Ali Khan), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.

Both Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan received dual nominations for Best Actor, with Roshan being nominated for Dhoom 2 and Krrish , and Khan being nominated for Don: The Chase Begins Again and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, with Roshan winning the category for Dhoom 2.

The 57th Filmfare Awards were held on 29 January 2012 at Film City, Mumbai honoring the best film of 2011 from the Hindi-language film industry. The official ceremony took place on 9 June 2007, at the Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield, England. During the ceremony, IIFA Awards were awarded in 29 competitive categories. The ceremony was televised in India and internationally on Star Plus. Actors Boman Irani and Lara Dutta co–hosted the ceremony – the first time.

Hrithik Roshan is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi-language films. As a child, he made uncredited appearances in three films directed by his maternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash, the first of which was in Aasha (1980). In 1986, Roshan played the adopted son of Rajinikanth's character in Prakash's crime drama Bhagwaan Dada. Roshan subsequently worked as an assistant director on four films, including Khudgarz (1987) and Karan Arjun (1995), all of which were directed by his father, Rakesh.

Dhoom 2 is the soundtrack album to the 2006 film Dhoom 2 directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films; the second instalment in the Dhoom franchise and the sequel to Dhoom (2004), it stars Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, and Bipasha Basu. The soundtrack was composed by Pritam with lyrics written by Sameer, and released through YRF Music on 24 September 2006. Despite the mixed critical reception, the album was the highest-selling Hindi film soundtrack of the year.
