The 46th Filmfare Awards were held on 17 February 2001, to honor the best films of 2000. [1]

Mohabbatein led the ceremony with 12 nominations, followed by Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai with 11 nominations.

Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai won 9 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (for Rakesh Roshan), Best Actor and Best Male Debut (both for Hrithik Roshan), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.

Hrithik Roshan received dual nominations for Best Actor for his performances in Fiza and Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, winning for the latter.

Real-life couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were both nominated, and eventually won Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively, for their performances in Mohabbatein and Fiza.

Hrithik Roshan is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi-language films. As a child, he made uncredited appearances in three films directed by his maternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash, the first of which was in Aasha (1980). In 1986, Roshan played the adopted son of Rajinikanth's character in Prakash's crime drama Bhagwaan Dada. Roshan subsequently worked as an assistant director on four films, including Khudgarz (1987) and Karan Arjun (1995), all of which were directed by his father, Rakesh.

"Panchi Nadiya Pawan Ke" is a 2000 Hindi song from the film Refugee. The track is composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. It was sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik and picturised on Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor.

The 7th Screen Awards also The Seventh Annual Screen–Videocon Awards ceremony, presented by Indian Express Group, honored the best Indian Hindi-language films of 2000. The ceremony was held on 20 January 2001 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai, and hosted by Rahul Khanna and co-hosted by Sonali Bendre, Aditi Govitrikar and Nafisa Joseph. The event was telecasted on DD National 9:00 PM and Sahara TV 09:30 PM on 21 January 2001.
