Namak Haraam (transl.Traitor) is a 1973 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The music is by R.D. Burman, the screenplay by Gulzar, and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. The film stars Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. It also stars Rekha, Asrani, Raza Murad, A. K. Hangal, Simi Garewal and Om Shivpuri. Rajesh Khanna received his third BFJA Awards for Best Actor (Hindi) in 1974 for this film and Amitabh Bachchan had won his second Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1974.

<i>Karz</i> (film) 1980 Indian film

Karz is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Subhash Ghai, starring Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim in the lead with Simi Garewal in the critically acclaimed role of Kamini Verma, the murderous wife, which won her a Filmfare nomination. The film's music was given by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. With chartbusting numbers like Om Shanti Om and Dard-E-Dil they went on to win Filmfare Best Music Director Award for this film and Anand Bakshi received two Filmfare nominations for the lyrics of these two hits.

Dr. Shriram Lagoo was an Indian film and theatre actor, in Hindi and Marathi, in addition to being an ENT Surgeon. He was known for his character roles in films. He acted in over 250 films including Hindi and Marathi films as well as Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati plays, and directed over 20 Marathi plays. He was also very vocal and active in furthering progressive and rational social causes, for example in 1999, he and social activist G. P. Pradhan undertook a fast in support of anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. He won the 1978 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Hindi film Gharaonda. His autobiography is titled Lamaan (लमाण), which means "the carrier of goods".

Shoma Anand is an Indian film and television actress. She started her career opposite Rishi Kapoor in Pramod Chakraborty's romantic-crime movie Barood, then played a role in Patita, produced and directed by the same person. She had a few other films in which she was the lead, such as Jagir and Coolie in the 1980s. From the late 1990s to present, she has played supporting roles in films like Jaise Karani Waisi Bharani, Coolie, Hungama, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Khubsoorat (transl. Beautiful) is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language comedy drama film, directed and produced by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and written by Gulzar, Shanu Banerjee, Ashok Rawat, and D. N. Mukherjee. The film stars Ashok Kumar, Rekha, Rakesh Roshan and Dina Pathak. It received critical acclaim and was a box-office success. The film was remade in Telugu as Swargam in 1981, in Tamil as Lakshmi Vandhachu, and in Malayalam as Vannu Kandu Keezhadakki. The 2014 film of the same name was loosely based on it. The 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani directed by Karan Johar also drew heavily from it.

Dostana (transl.Friendship) is a 1980 Indian Hindi action drama film, written by Salim–Javed, produced by Yash Johar, and directed by Raj Khosla. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Zeenat Aman in lead roles and Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri, Helen, Pran in supporting roles. The film was a huge hit at the box-office and became the fourth highest-grosser of 1980, behind Qurbani, Asha and Ram Balram. Dostana was one of the last successful films directed by Raj Khosla. The film was remade in Tamil as Sattam with Kamal Haasan.

Thodisi Bewafaii is a 1980 Hindi movie written and directed by Esmayeel Shroff. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Shabana Azmi and Padmini Kohlapure. The music is by Khayyam.The film was a commercial hit and in some cities celebrated as a golden jubilee.

Judaai (transl. Separation) is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language drama film, produced by A.V. Subba Rao under the Prasad Art Pictures banner and directed by T. Rama Rao. The film stars Jeetendra and Rekha, with music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. It is a remake of the Telugu film Aalu Magalu (1977).
