Anaita Shroff Adajania is an Indian fashion stylist, costume designer and actress. She was the Fashion Director for Vogue India magazine. [2]

Early life

Adajania was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra in a Parsi family. [3] [4] She attended The Bombay International School and St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. [4]

Career

She started her career as assistant fashion editor with Elle magazine, upon its Indian launch in 1996. [5] Subsequently, she worked with L'Officiel India, before becoming the fashion director at Vogue India. [1] [6]

The owner of the Style Cell company, [7] Adajania has been noted for her design work on several Bollywood films including Dhoom 2 , Being Cyrus , Everybody Says I'm Fine! , Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail . [8] She has notably styled all three films in the Dhoom series , starting with Dhoom (2004) where she worked with John Abraham and Esha Deol's look, followed by Dhoom 2 (2006) where in she worked with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Bipasha Basu, and also in the sequel Dhoom 3 , she styled Katrina Kaif. [9]

Her designs have also been featured in magazines including Vogue, L'Officiel, Elle and Rolling Stone. [3] [10] Shroff also currently styles actress Deepika Padukone [11] exclusively for all of her events. [12]

Apart from this, she has acted in walk-on roles in films, like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), wherein she played Sheena, Simran's (Kajol) friend in London whom Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) flirts with at the start of the European trip. [13] In Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), she played Gita, Rohit's (Saif Ali Khan) friend. [13]

She married Indian film director and screenwriter Homi Adajania in 2002 who directed Being Cyrus (2006) and Cocktail (2012). The couple has two sons and she is the sister of Scherezade Shroff. [14]

Her sister, Scherezade Shroff is a YouTube vlogger. She married actor Vaibhav Talwar in 2016. [15]

Finding Fanny is a 2014 Indian English- language satirical road film directed and written by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and presented by Fox Star Studios. Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor feature in prominent roles. The film is based on a road trip set in Goa and follows the journey of five dysfunctional friends who set out on a road trip in search of Fanny, the love-interest of Shah's character. The film had its premiere in India on 1 September 2014 and was released worldwide on 12 September 2014. It was selected to be screened at 19th Busan International Film Festival in October 2014.
