Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an Indian film director, film producer, screenwriter, editor and music composer, who works in Hindi cinema. He is the recipient of several awards, including seven National Film Awards and 12 Filmfare Awards, in addition to a nomination for a BAFTA Award. In 2015, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award. Bhansali is best known for his use of aesthetics and musical vision, particularly in period dramas.

It is jointly produced by Bhansali and UTV Motion Pictures. Sudeep Chatterjee handled the cinematography and editing was performed by Hemal Kothari.

The film stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra with Tanvi Azmi, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Milind Soman, Mahesh Manjrekar and Aditya Pancholi in supporting roles. Based on Nagnath S. Inamdar's Marathi novel Rau, Bajirao Mastani narrates the story of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I (1700–1740) and his second wife, Mastani.

The film stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. The album, originally recorded in Hindi features nine songs, and was released on 31 October 2015 by Eros Music. The original score of the film is composed by Sanchit Balhara.
Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara are an Indian film score composer duo. Sanchit Balhara started his career as a solo composer and became best known for composing the score of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2015 epic historical romance film, Bajirao Mastani. Sanchit's elder brother, Ankit Balhara, joined him in 2018, and the duo have been composing together since Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by S. Hussain Zaidi, it tells the story of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a simple girl from Kathiawad who is forced into prostitution and later rises to become a madam and an influential figure in Bombay's red-light area. The film stars Alia Bhatt in the title role, alongside Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh and Ajay Devgn.

Gangubai Kathiawadi (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 2022 film of the same name, directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role. The film was loosely based on the life of Indian sex worker and social activist Gangubai Kothewali and documented in the novel Mafia Queens of Mumbai, written by S. Hussain Zaidi. Besides directing, Bhansali also composed the film's soundtrack while the score was composed by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara. The lyrics for the songs were written by Kumaar, A. M. Turaz and Bhojak Ashok "Anjam". The album was released under the Saregama record label on 18 February 2022 with a simultaneous Telugu version which had lyrics written by Chaitanya Prasad.
Sukoon is the debut studio album composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali released under the Saregama label on 30 November 2022. It is Bhansali's maiden stint in non-film music after his compositions for films. The album consisted of nine songs ranging from various genres such as ghazal, semi-classical and Indian folk music. The lyrics were primarily written by A. M. Turaz, Siddharth–Garima and Kumaar, alongside adaptations of poems from Ghalib and Momin Khan Momin.
