Circus Waldissima (founded 1992) is a theatrical youth circus company operated out of Santa Rosa, California, as an after-school program at Summerfield Waldorf School and farm. Founded as a small after-school program with a few children, and a performance at a school function, the circus has since grown to more than three large shows a year with over 100 student participants in the main show, in its own circus tent. First classes and first show at the 1992 May Faire celebrations at Summerfield Waldorf School. In 2010, Circus Waldissima Purchased their first 22m diameter Circus Tent from Segel RAAP in Germany. First Show in the New Big Top ("Life of a Butterfly") was in 2011.

The Fairfield Osborn Preserve is a 450-acre nature reserve situated on the northwest flank of Sonoma Mountain in Sonoma County, California. There are eight plant communities within the property, oak woodland being the dominant type. Other communities include chaparral, Douglas fir woodland, native Bunch grass, freshwater marsh, vernal pool, pond and riparian woodland. The flora is extremely diverse including many native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, grasses, lichens and mosses. A diverse fauna inhabits this area including black-tailed deer, coyote, bobcat and an occasional mountain lion; moreover, there are abundant avifauna, amphibians, reptiles and insects.

Pepperwood Preserve is a 3,117-acre plot of land owned by the Pepperwood Foundation, located in the Mayacamas Mountains in the coast ranges of California near the towns of Santa Rosa and Healdsburg in Sonoma County. Credo High School is a tuition-free, college prep public charter school in Rohnert Park, California, following the core principles of public Waldorf education and serving students in ninth through twelfth grades. The school has been expanding annually since it opened in 2011, and there are 400 students for the 2018-2019 school year. Credo High School was granted charter approval in 2010 after three years of planning by a development team led by Executive Director Chip Romer and Education Director Thomas Schaefer. The school was originally located on Southwest Blvd. in Rohnert Park, California, but in 2017 relocated to SOMO Village in Rohnert Park, planned to be the model sustainable community in North America and dedicated to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and creating a more sustainable world. Today, Credo High School is the only "One Planet" school in the world and has been recognized as a Planetary Leader by Bioregional, Inc., the London-based international nonprofit that oversees One Planet Living worldwide. Gaye Theresa LeBaron is an American newspaper columnist, author, teacher, and local historian of Sonoma County, California. She wrote more than 8,000 columns for The Press Democrat from 1961 until her semi-retirement in 2001. She also co-authored two books on the history of Santa Rosa, California.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tubbs Fire</span> 2017 wildfire in Napa and Sonoma counties, California, US

The Tubbs Fire was a wildfire in Northern California during October 2017. At the time, the Tubbs Fire was the most destructive wildfire in California history, burning parts of Napa, Sonoma, and Lake counties, inflicting its greatest losses in the city of Santa Rosa. Its destructiveness was surpassed only a year later by the Camp Fire of 2018. The Tubbs Fire was one of more than a dozen large fires that broke out in early October 2017, which were simultaneously burning in eight Northern California counties, in what was called the "Northern California firestorm". By the time of its containment on October 31, the fire was estimated to have burned 36,810 acres (149 km2); at least 22 people were believed to have been killed in Sonoma County by the fire.

The Monroe District is an area in western Santa Rosa, California, which has been recognized since at least 1870. It was named for the Monroe family, early residents of the area. Some of the early homes were built of wood brought in by Jim McReynolds as early as 1854.

Jonathan Beard is an American orchestrator and composer for media and the concert stage. His credits include Us, The Handmaid's Tale, Despicable Me 3, and Star Wars: Battlefront II. Beard also works as an educator, and currently teaches at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
