Cirkusrevyen is the biggest revue in Denmark located in Dyrehavsbakken north of Copenhagen. It was founded in 1935 by restaurateur Carl Pehrsson, actors Osvald Helmuth, Oscar Holst and the musician Herman Gellin [1]
The young Aage Stentoft was the first accompanist for Cirkusrevyen. He was hired, just as he arrived to Copenhagen from Holbæk. He wrote the melody for many of the songs in the first years such as "Molak molak mak mak mak", "Dit hjerte er i fare Andresen"(Your heart is in danger Andresen), "I den mellemste køje", "Degnens vise", "Schaldemose" and "Hen te' kommoden og tebavs igen".
In the Danish Broadcasting Corporation show "Omkring Aage Stentoft" (Around Aage Stentoft) from 1984 he told, how he got involved. He was applying for a job as a piano player in the revue. He could not play sheet music and played all his life by ear. He was hired on condition that he would buy a share in the revue. Stentoft believed in both the idea, the names and himself, so he took the offer. During one of the first rehearsals Ludvig Brandstrup became irritable when Aage Stentoft made a few mistakes, Brandstrup shouted: - Who the H... is that hillbilly at the piano?" Stentoft got up, took a bow and said: "He is the one financing the revue!"
Cirkusrevyen has every year been performed in the tent in Dyrehavsbakken. The only exception was 1945, when the tent was erected at the site of the burnt down Forum Copenhagen. [1]
Dyrehavsbakken, commonly referred to as Bakken (lit. 'The Hill', originally the now a bit antiquated but still correctly or officially Dyrehavsbakken, Bakken to distinguish Bakken from Dyrehaven, the royal Deer Park. The amusement park Bakken is located in the southern part of the Deer Park, around 600 meter away through the forest from public transport connections to the center of Copenhagen (Klampenborg S-train Station which is served by regional trains as well. A huge parking area close to Bakken.
Kjøbenhavns Boldklub is a Danish professional multi-sports club based in Copenhagen. The club was founded on 26 April 1876 on the grassy fields in outer Copenhagen which later became Fælledparken. Tennis has been played since 1883. The club hosted, in 1921, one of the early tennis majors: the World Covered Court Championships, won by William Laurentz that year. Today, along with the sports already mentioned, the club also has facilities for badminton, swimming and pétanque.

Karl Aage Præst, also spelled Carl Aage Præst, was a Danish football player. Playing in the left winger position, Præst won two Serie A championships with Italian club Juventus FC. He played 24 games and scored 17 goals for the Danish national team from 1945 to 1949, and won a bronze medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. He is a Danish Football Hall of Fame inductee.
Karl Aage Hansen was a Danish football player, who played as a forward. He won a bronze medal with the Denmark national football team at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He scored 17 goals in 22 games for the Danish national team, and was Danish team captain on 17 occasions. He got his breakthrough as an amateur player in Danish club Akademisk Boldklub, but moved abroad in 1948 to play professionally for a number of European clubs, including Juventus F.C. and UC Sampdoria in Italy and Huddersfield Town in England.
Helge Christian Bronée was a Danish footballer who played four games for the amateur Denmark national football team. He moved abroad in 1948 to play professionally for French club FC Nancy, as well as Italian clubs Palermo, AS Roma, Juventus, and Novara. Adverse to any form of discipline, he was known as the playboy of European football.
Jørgen Leschly Sørensen was a Danish footballer who played as a forward. He started as an amateur player in Danish football, and won the 1945 Danish championship with B.93. He played 14 games and scored eight goals for the Denmark national football team, and won a bronze medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. After the Olympics, Sørensen played professionally in Italian football for Atalanta B.C. and A.C. Milan, winning the 1955 Serie A championship with Milan.
John Angelo Valdemar Østergaard Hansen, known simply as John Hansen, was a Danish footballer who played as a forward. He played professionally for seven years in Italy: he scored 124 goals in 187 matches for Juventus F.C., and won two Serie A championships with the club, finishing as Capocannoniere top-goal scorer in the 1951–52 Serie A season; he later also played for Italian club S.S. Lazio. He won the 1944 Danish championship with childhood club BK Frem. Hansen scored 10 goals in eight games for the Denmark national football team in 1948, and won a bronze medal with Denmark at the 1948 Summer Olympics. In 1985, Hansen received the Italian order of chivalry.
Aage Stentoft was a Danish composer, film score composer and theatre director. He composed over 700 melodies during his lifetime.
The Nørrebros Teater is a theater in Copenhagen, Denmark. Notable actors who have starred at the theatre before entering film include Osvald Helmuth, Buster Larsen, Poul Reichhardt and Poul Bundgaard. It is now operated as a part of the Københavns Teater in affiliation with the Betty Nansen Teatret, Folketeatret and Østre Gasværk Teater.

Else Marie Pade was a Danish composer of electronic music. She was educated as a pianist at the Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. She studied composition first with Vagn Holmboe, and later with Jan Maegaard, from whom she learned twelve-tone technique. In 1954, she became the first Danish composer of electronic and concrete music. She worked with Pierre Schaeffer and Karlheinz Stockhausen, as well as Pierre Boulez.

Aage Oxenvad was a Danish clarinetist who played in the Royal Danish Orchestra from 1909. Carl Nielsen wrote his Clarinet Concerto for Oxenvad who played at its premiere in 1928.

It takes its name after Marienlyst House, a neighboring former royal summer retreat, which was part of it from its foundation in 1859 until 1896.
