Cirque du Soleil Theme Park Resort is an announced theme park coming to Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

On November 12, 2014, Cirque du Soleil, Grupo Vidanta, and Goddard Group announced plans for a theme park in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The plans call for at least two lands, the Village of the Sun and the Village of the Moon, as well as an outdoor evening show accommodating as many as 3,000 to 5,000 spectators, and may include a water park and nature park elements. [1] [2] [3] On November 30, 2015, Goddard Group released concept drawings for a previously unannounced water park. [4]

The park was initially anticipated to open in 2018, but this has been delayed until 2020. [5] [6] Further delays have subsequently pushed the projected opening date to 2023. [7]

PortAventura World

It was built around the PortAventura Park theme park, which attracts around 3.5 million visitors per year, making it the most visited theme park in Spain and the sixth most visited theme park in Europe. The resort includes a second theme park, Ferrari Land, since 2017 and also includes PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park, five hotels, a convention centre and a RV park. It is the biggest resort in the south of Europe which attracts around 5 million visitors per year. It has Reus Airport within 15 minutes of it and Barcelona Airport within an hour. There is a train station for PortAventura which has connections to Barcelona and Tarragona.

Cirque du Soleil Canadian contemporary circus company

Cirque du Soleil is a Montreal-based entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world. Located in the inner-city area of Saint-Michel, it was founded in Baie-Saint-Paul on 16 June 1984 by former street performers Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix.

La Nouba was a Cirque du Soleil show that ran for 19 years in a custom-built, freestanding theater at Disney Springs' West Side at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. It was a contemporary circus performance featuring acrobats, gymnasts, and other skilled performers. The show's creation was directed by Franco Dragone, who also directed many of Cirque du Soleil's earlier shows. Its title derives from the French phrase faire la nouba, meaning "to party" or "to live it up".

<i>O</i> (Cirque du Soleil) Water-themed stage production

O is a water-themed stage production by Cirque du Soleil, a Canadian circus and entertainment company. The show has been in permanent residence at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, since October 1998. O, whose name is pronounced the same way as eau, the French word for "water", takes place around and above a 1.5-million-US-gallon (5,700 m3) pool of water. It features water acts such as synchronized swimming as well as aerial and ground acts. The O theatre, which is designed to resemble a 14th-century European opera house, has 1,800 seats, thus allowing the performance to be watched by 3,600 people a night since the performance usually plays twice in a given day, also designed to meet the special demands of the show.

Benoît Jutras is a Canadian composer. Jutras is best known for his work with the Canadian entertainment company Cirque du Soleil, first as music director and later as composer for several of the company's contemporary circus shows. Jutras' music often blends eclectic influences, including world beat, classical, rock, trip hop, and electronica. His scores for Cirque du Soleil shows include O, Mystère, Quidam, and La Nouba. His work outside Cirque du Soleil has included original soundtracks for Le Rêve, the Glow in the Park Parade, and The House of Dancing Water. He has also composed for film and television.

The Super Bowl Experience is an annual event which has been held since 1992 at a venue in the host city of the Super Bowl. The event is described as an interactive "theme park", featuring various fan-oriented attractions, including football-related activities and autograph sessions with current and former players. Proceeds from the sale of Super Bowl Experience tickets go to fund the NFL's Youth Education Town (YET) initiative, which constructs facilities offering afterschool programs for youth.

Viva Elvis was the seventh resident Cirque du Soleil show on the Las Vegas Strip. It resided at the Aria Resort & Casino and premiered on February 19, 2010. The show closed on August 31, 2012. Cirque du Soleil partnered with Elvis Presley Enterprises to produce this show, similar to how they partnered with The Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd to produce the resident show Love at the Mirage.

20 Times Square is a 39-story mixed-use development at 701 Seventh Avenue, on the northeast corner with West 47th Street at the northern end of Times Square, Manhattan, New York City. The development includes one of Ian Schragers Edition Hotels, operated by Marriott, above a 6-floor 76,000 square feet (7,100 m2) retail component. It opened in February 2019.

Legacy Entertainment is a themed entertainment integrator and design firm based in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The firm, then known as Gary Goddard Entertainment (GGE) and later the Goddard Group, was formed by Gary Goddard in 2002 after leaving his previous company, Landmark Entertainment Group. The company reorganized, changed ownership, and was rebranded Legacy Entertainment in 2018 when Gary Goddard left the company following accusations of sexual assault. Legacy Entertainment has created a number of entertainment projects in a variety of forms. These include theme parks, resorts, casinos, retail malls, Broadway shows, and films.

Grupo Vidanta

Grupo Vidanta is a Mexican conglomerate involved in design, construction, financing, and operation and maintenance of hotels, resorts, cruises, and associated infrastructure. It also owns and operates the Mar de Cortés International Airport. Grupo Vidanta was founded by Daniel Chávez Morán in 1974 and is headquartered in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The group has 25,000 employees and an estimated annual revenue of US$750 million.

Daniel Chávez Morán

Daniel Chávez Morán is a Mexican real estate developer and the founder of Grupo Vidanta, a real estate consortium which operates over 30 hotels in Latin America. He is also the founder of the Delia Moran Vidanta Foundation and the Vidanta Foundation, two non-profit philanthropic organizations.

Vida Vacations

Vida Vacations is a vacation membership company, which allows its customers to purchase a Right to Use and, more recently, a real estate interest in 15 resorts in Mexico. It was founded in 2010 by Grupo Vidanta, and was originally named "Vida Vacation Club".Before that, in the 1990s it was called Vidafel and sold timeshares. The total number of rooms is approximately 7,000.

Rock in Rio USA was a music festival held in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2015. A spin-off of Rio de Janeiro's Rock in Rio festival, it was held on two consecutive weekends in May 2015 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on the Las Vegas Strip. It shared a similar structure and format to its Brazilian counterpart, hosting at least 120 acts for its first and only edition, while its site was developed in cooperation with organizers. The event was a partnership with SFX Entertainment, the festival's Brazilian stakeholder IMX, MGM Resorts International, Yucaipa Companies, and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.

<i>Joyà</i>

Joyà is an 80-minute long resident show at the Vidanta resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, produced as a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and it's subsidiary Cirque du Soleil Events + Experiences. It is Cirque du Soleil's first resident show in Latin America.
