Claire Elizabeth Smith (born 1970) is a British TV Host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss United Kingdom in 1992. She went on to the Miss World 1992 in Sun City, South Africa, finishing as first runner-up. The winner was Miss Russia, Julia Kourotchkina. [1] [2]

Miss United Kingdom is a title held by the highest-ranked contestant from the UK in the Miss World pageant. The winner sometimes competes at Miss International the following year under the Britain or United Kingdom banner. From 1958-1999, Miss United Kingdom was a national beauty pageant held to choose a representative for the Miss World Pageant. In 1999, Scotland and Wales had their own contestants at Miss World, and in 2000, England and Northern Ireland sent their own representatives. The existing organization now runs the Miss England competition.

Miss World 1992, the 42nd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 12 December 1992 at the Sun City Entertainment Center in Sun City, South Africa. The winner was Julia Kourotchkina from Russia. She was crowned by Miss World 1991, Ninibeth Leal of Venezuela.

Miss Tourism International beauty contest

Miss Tourism International is an annual international beauty pageant run by the D’ Touch International Sdn. Bhd. Foundation. The pageant was first held in 1994 at Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, where 23 contestants competed. In 2006, the contest was held outside of Malaysia for the first time, in Guangzhou, China. In 2016, 60 countries participated in the Miss Tourism International pageant.

The national pageant which chooses the Indian representative for Miss Earth is Miss Divine Beauty of India.
