"Classic" is a song by New York City-based electronic music duo The Knocks. Released on 17 September 2014 through Neon Gold Records and Big Beat Records, it was the main single from the duo's third extended play, entitled So Classic (2015). The vocals featured are by Crista Ru, the lead singer of alternative pop duo POWERS. It was written by Ben Ruttner, James Patterson, Mike Del Rio, and Crista Ru.
The music video which served as an accompaniment to the song was uploaded to The Knocks' official YouTube account and, as of early 2021, has been viewed over 5.7 million times. The video is modeled after the video game The Sims 4 . [1] [2]

Big Beat is an American electronic and dance music record label, owned by Warner Music Group and operates through Atlantic Records. It was founded as an independent record label in 1987 by Craig Kallman with an emphasis on house music, and later hip hop. It was absorbed into Atlantic Records in 1998, and eventually relaunched separately in 2010 as a primarily electronic music label. Its current roster includes Dog Blood, Galantis, Whethan, Cash Cash, and Clean Bandit.

Philadelphia hiphop band Chiddy Bang sampled The Knocks' "Blackout" for their single "Here We Go" from their EP The Preview. Chiddy Bang subsequently sampled The Knocks' "When You've Got Music" and "Dancing with the DJ" for their mixtape Peanut Butter and Swelly. After the success of "Dancing With The DJ", their debut extended play, entitled Magic was released in 2011.
