Classic Example was an American contemporary R&B group that was active in the early 1990s. The group consisted of Darin Campbell, Gerald Alston, Jami Thomson, Marvin Harris and Robert Rose. [1]

Contents

The group's only charting single was their debut single "It's Alright", which peaked at #68 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1992. [2] The single appeared on the soundtrack to the film South Central as well as on the group's eponymous debut album, but neither album charted in the United States. [2] [3]

Caron Melina Wheeler is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and musician. Born and raised in London, she performed in various singing competitions as a teenager and began her recording career as one of the founding members of Brown Sugar. She was also one of the founding members of the female backing vocalist group Afrodiziak. She officially rose to fame in the late 1980s as lead singer of R&B group Soul II Soul. Managed by her bandmate, Jazzie B, the group became one of the London's best-selling groups in the 1990s. Their debut album, Club Classics Vol. One (1989), which established them as a global success worldwide, earned two Grammy Awards and featured the UK and Billboard number-one singles "Keep on Movin'" and "Back to Life ".

"Gimme Little Sign" is a classic soul music song, originally performed by Brenton Wood. It was released in 1967 on the album Oogum Boogum. It was written by Wood, Joe Hooven and Jerry Winn. The most well known version is by Brenton Wood, which peaked at number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and also was top 10 in the UK Singles Chart and Australia. Mighty Mo Rodgers played the electronic organ on the recording.

Alt-J British band

Alt-J are an English indie rock band formed in 2007 in Leeds, by Joe Newman, Thom Sonny Green (drums), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards/vocals) and Gwilym Sainsbury (guitar/bass). Their debut album An Awesome Wave was released in May 2012 in Europe, and in September 2012 in the United States, and won the 2012 British Mercury Prize. Sainsbury left the band in early 2014. Their second album, This Is All Yours, was released on 22 September 2014 and went straight to UK number one. As a replacement for Sainsbury, Cameron Knight became a supporting member for alt-J's live shows, playing guitar, bass and sampler. In 2017, the band released their third studio album, Relaxer, and are currently playing as a trio.
