Claudemir competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. He won a silver medal in theT42-46 4 × 100 m as part of the Brazilian team, after failing to medal in the T46 200m.

Antônio Delfino de Souza is a retired paralympic sprinter from Brazil. At the age of 17 de Souza had his right hand amputated after an accident at agricultural works. In 1992, he moved to Brasília, where he took up sprint running. He competed in T46 sprint events at the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Paralympics and won two gold and one silver medal in 2000 and 2004. He was selected as a final Paralympic torch bearer at the 2016 Summer Paralympics opening ceremony.

The 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was the biggest track and field competition for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Lyon, France, and lasted from 20 to 28 July. Around 1,100 athletes competed, from 94 different countries. The event was held in the Stade du Rhône located at the Parc de Parilly in Vénissieux, in Lyon Metropolis.

Sprinter Revelinot Raherinandrasana was the sole athlete to represent the nation in Rio de Janeiro. In his event, the men's 1500 metres T45–T46, he finished tenth and last out of all the finishing athletes with a time of 4 minutes and 38.60 seconds.
Manuel Mendes is a Portuguese paralympic athlete. He represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the bronze medal in the men's marathon T46 event. In 2019, he qualified for the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan after finishing in tenth place in his event at the 2019 London Marathon in London, United Kingdom. He competed in the men's marathon T46 event.
