Cleopas Maunye is a South African politician. He served as a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature for the Bushbuckridge Residents Association from May 2014 until March 2017, when he was recalled from the legislature. Maunye has since rejoined the African National Congress.

Political career

Maunye joined the Bushbuckridge Residents Association, now known as the Better Residents Association, after he left the African National Congress. For the 7 May 2014 general election, he was placed first on the party's candidate list to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. The party won one seat, and he filled that seat on 21 May 2014. [1]

In February 2017, he was suspended from the party, pending a disciplinary hearing. [2] Party leaders accused him of "selling out to the ANC." He was then recalled from the provincial legislature effective 31 March 2017 and rejoined the ANC on 2 April. [3] Cecil Shilwake succeeded him as the BRA's sole representative in the legislature. In August 2016 it was reported that there had been at least twenty political assassinations in the run up to the local government elections on the 3rd of August that year, most of them in KwaZulu-Natal.

Ronald Lamola South African lawyer and politician

Ronald Ozzy Lamola is a South African lawyer and politician, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, and a member of the African National Congress (ANC). He has also been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 22 May 2019. He is a member of the ANC's National Executive Committee and National Working Committee. Lamola had previously been involved in the African National Congress Youth League.

Tsietsi Peter Nyoni is a South African politician and a member of the African National Congress (ANC) who currently serves as the Deputy Director-General for the Mpumalanga Provincial Government. He previously served as one of the executive directors for the Mpumalanga Human Settlements Department until he was removed in 2013 from the position by then Premier David Mabuza. He was appointed to head the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs in the province in August 2016 until February 2020 when current Premier Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane made him the provincial government's Deputy Director-General.

Sasekani Janet Manzini is a South African politician who currently serves as the MEC for Health in the Mpumalanga provincial government, appointed in July 2018 as well as the Provincial spokesperson of the African National Congress (ANC) in Mpumalanga. She was elected to serve on the ANC's provincial executive committee (PEC) in December 2015 from the position of provincial African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) secretary. Manzini served as the MEC for the provincial Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport from August 2016 to July 2018. She has been a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since February 2016.

Petrus Simon Ngomana, known as Pat Ngomana, is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress, he was elected to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature in May 2014. He served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety, Security and Liaison from August 2016 until May 2019, when he was appointed MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism. Ngomana currently serves in the post.

Sikhumbuzo Eric Kholwane is a South African politician and lawyer who served as the Mpumalanga MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism from May 2014 to May 2019. He was also a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature during that time. Prior to serving in the Mpumalanga provincial government, Kholwane was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2004 to 2014. He is a member of both the African National Congress and the South African Communist Party.

Jane Manganye is a South African politician who has served as a member of the South African National Assembly since May 2019, and previously from May 2009 to May 2014. She was the deputy speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature from May 2014 to May 2019. Manganye is a member of the African National Congress.
