Clickity Clack

Clickity Clack (foaled March 25, 2015, in Ontario, Canada [1] ) was a Stakes Race winning Canadian Thoroughbred racehorse. [2] [3] Clickity Clack was sired by Silent Name (JPN), [4] and is best known for her tactical closing speed, often spotting other horses large leads before overtaking them down the final stretch. Clickity Clack was bred by Michelle Love and Robert Love, and was owned by Tony Gattellaro, Paul Statchuk, Andrew Carlson, Dave Carlson, Tamara Baker & John Galagher. Clickity Clack was trained by Tony Gattellaro and TMG Racing Stables. Clickity Clack was purchased by Tony Gattellaro & team for US$15,260 in August 2016 at the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (Ontario Division) Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale. [5]

Clickity Clack finished 2nd in her first career start, losing by a head in a photo finish. [2] Clickity Clack earned her Maiden win on October 7, 2017, at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. On October 29, 2017, Clickity Clack won the 72nd running of the $225,000 Princess Elizabeth Stakes, going off at 10–1 odds. [6] The Princess Elizabeth Stakes is the richest race of the year for Canadian-foaled two-year-old fillies. Prior to winning her first stakes race, many experts thought very highly of Clickity Clack and what she might accomplish in her career. [7]

Steven Bahen rode Clickity Clack in her first two starts. Rafael Hernandez| rode her to victory in her next two starts, giving Clickity Clack finishes of 2nd–7th-1st–1st in her first four races to start her career. [8] After winning the Princess Elizabeth Stakes, Clickity Clack ran in the South Ocean Stakes on short rest, [9] [10] racing to a 3rd-place finish. In 2018, Clickity Clack posted a 2nd place finish in her first race of the year in the Eternal Search Stakes on August 5. Clickity Clack ran once more in 2018, finishing in 5th place in the La Prevoyante Stakes on November 10.

Clickity Clack finished her racing career with earnings of US$162,463. [1]

Tepin was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who was named the American Champion Female Turf Horse of 2015 and 2016. She showed very promising form as a two-year-old in 2013 when she won the Delta Princess Stakes on the dirt. After a disappointing three-year-old season when she failed to win in four starts, she emerged as a top-class turf performer in 2015. Her wins as a four-year-old included the Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes, Just a Game Stakes and First Lady Stakes before recording her biggest success when defeating male opposition in the Breeders' Cup Mile. In 2016, she won her first four starts and was then sent to England, where she defeated a field of leading European milers to win the Queen Anne Stakes. On returning to North America, she extended her winning streak to eight in the Woodbine Mile. The streak included three Grade/Group 1 wins against male horses in three different countries. Lady Eli is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse who was named the American Champion Female Turf Horse of 2017. She extended her record to a perfect six wins from six starts in the 2015 Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes but then stepped on a nail on her way back to the barn, which led to a life-threatening case of laminitis. After a lengthy recovery, Lady Eli finished second in her August 2016 return to the racetrack, then won the Flower Bowl Stakes in October. With her 2017 wins in the Gamely Stakes and Diana Stakes, she won at least one Grade I race in each of her four racing seasons.

Luis Contreras is a Mexican thoroughbred jockey since 2006. After starting his career in Mexico, Contreras started competing in the United States and Canada during the late 2000s. For his graded stakes race career, Contreras has won forty Grade III races, twenty two Grade II races and four Grade I races. At the 2011 Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, Contreras won the Queen's Plate, Prince of Wales Stakes, and Breeders' Stakes. He became the first jockey to use two horses to win the Canadian Triple Crown. In 2014, Contreras came short of another Canadian Triple Crown after finishing tenth at the Breeders' Stakes following wins at the Queen's Plate and Prince of Wales.

South Ocean (1967–1989) was a Canadian Thoroughbred Hall of Fame mare raced by Charles Taylor. She was bred by Charles's father E. P. Taylor, Canada's preeminent name in Thoroughbred racing and in world breeding history.
