Cloone (Irish : Cluain) [1] is a townland in the civil parish of Loughmoe East, County Tipperary, Ireland. [2] It is located southeast of Templemore.

Its name is an anglicised version of the Irish-language word cluain, meaning 'meadow'. The village is in a townland and civil parish of the same name.

The Cluain Conmhaícne, or Cluain Conmaicne, were an early people of Ireland. Their tuath comprised the entire parish of Cloone, located in the baronies of Maigh Rein (Mohill) and Carrigallen, in south County Leitrim.
