The Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an American all-weather, carrier-capable tactical airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft. This twin-turboprop aircraft was designed and developed during the late 1950s and early 1960s by the Grumman Aircraft Company for the United States Navy as a replacement for the earlier, piston-engined E-1 Tracer, which was rapidly becoming obsolete. The aircraft's performance has been upgraded with the E-2B, and E-2C versions, where most of the changes were made to the radar and radio communications due to advances in electronic integrated circuits and other electronics. The fourth major version of the Hawkeye is the E-2D, which first flew in 2007. The E-2 was the first aircraft designed specifically for its role, as opposed to a modification of an existing airframe, such as the Boeing E-3 Sentry. Variants of the Hawkeye have been in continuous production since 1960, giving it the longest production run of any carrier-based aircraft.

The Iowa Hawkeyes football program represents the University of Iowa in college football. The Hawkeyes compete in the West division of the Big Ten Conference. Iowa joined the Conference in 1899 and played their first Conference football season in 1900. They are currently a Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) member of the NCAA. The Hawkeyes play their home games in Iowa City, Iowa at Kinnick Stadium, with a capacity of 69,250. The Hawkeyes are currently coached by Kirk Ferentz, who is in his 21st season as the head coach and is the longest current tenured head coach in NCAA Division I FBS.
Cerezo Osaka are a Japanese professional football club based in Osaka. The club currently plays in the J1 League, which is the top tier of football in the country. The team name Cerezo is also the flower of the city of Osaka. The official hometowns for the team are Osaka and Sakai.
Kyoto Sanga FC (京都サンガF.C.) is a Japanese professional football club based in Kyoto. "Sanga" comes from the Sanskrit sangha, a term meaning "group" or "club" and often used to denote the Buddhist priesthood, associating the club with Kyoto's many Buddhist temples. The club was formerly known as Kyoto Purple Sanga with "purple", the colour of the team uniforms, an imperial colour reflecting Kyoto's status as Japan's ancient imperial capital city. The X-League is the top-level professional American football league in Japan. It was founded in 1971 as the Japan American Football League, and changed its name to the X League in 1997. Willie Fleming is a former professional Canadian football player with the Canadian Football League's BC Lions. Fleming played collegiately as a halfback at the University of Iowa, where he was a member of the Hawkeyes' 1959 Rose Bowl championship team. He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, the BC Sports Hall of Fame, and the BC Lions Wall of Fame. Fleming's number 15 jersey is one of eight numbers retired by the Lions. In 2003, Fleming was voted a member of the BC Lions All-Time Dream Team as part of the club's 50th anniversary celebration. Jordan Canzeri is an American football running back who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes football team from 2011 to 2015. He rushed for a career-high 256 yards on a school-record 43 carries against Illinois on October 10, 2015. He helped lead the 2015 Iowa Hawkeyes football team to an undefeated 12–0 record during the regular season, as he rushed for 976 yards during the season. He was selected by both the coaches and media as a third-team player on the 2015 All-Big Ten Conference football team. He played for the Elecom Kobe Finies of the X-League from 2016 to 2017. On March 19, 2018, Canzeri was assigned to the Albany Empire. On March 31, 2018, he was placed on recallable reassignment.
