CoHive, formerly known as EV Hive is a coworking space based in Indonesia, providing flexible workspace, business services and networking for entrepreneurs and startups.

The company counts several venture capital funds among its investors, including East Ventures, Sinar Mas Digital Ventures (SMDV), Insignia Ventures, Intudo Ventures and Jacumen Investments.

History

CoHive was founded on 2015, when it was originally known as EV Hive (East Ventures' Hive). It started as a part-time initiative from funding firm East Ventures to provide working place for its portfolios. Soon after that, it realized that the initiative actually similar to a business model called co-working space, and decided to continue the initiative. [1]

In the beginning, EV Hive only had two locations in South Jakarta and one in BSD City.

On 15 May 2017, EV Hive announced the acquisition of pre-series A funding of US$0.8 million as well as the appointment of Carlson Lau as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jason Lee as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Ethan Choi as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). [2]

In September 2017, EV Hive received additional funding from Insignia Venture Partners and other investors including Intudo Ventures, East Ventures and SMDV. [3] In November, the company announced a merger with Clapham Collective, a coworking space in Medan, as well as the opening of the first EV Hive branch in Medan. [4] By then, the company had nine locations in Jakarta, Tangerang and Medan.

In June 2019, EV Hive rebranded as CoHive. At the same time, it also announced that it raised US$13.5 million in a new round of funding led by Korea's Stonebridge Ventures. [5] Right now, CoHive is present in 31 locations covering approximately 65,000 square meters in Jakarta, Medan, Yogyakarta, and Bali, including a 18 storeys building that can house up to 2,700 members. The platform also provides coupons, voucher codes, and comparison features. It has 5 million members.

Gojek is an Indonesian on-demand multi-service platform and digital payment technology group based in Jakarta. Gojek was first established in Indonesia in 2010 as a call center to connect consumers to courier delivery and two-wheeled ride-hailing services. Gojek launched its application in 2015 with only four services: GoRide, GoSend, GoShop, and GoFood. JustCo

JustCo is a Singaporean company that provides coworking workspaces for individuals and companies. Headquartered in Singapore, JustCo was founded in 2011 by Kong Wan Sing, its current CEO, alongside co-founders Liu Lu and Kong Wan Long, as a response to increasing demand for flexible workspaces. Initially focused on Singapore, the company expanded to provide office space in cities across eight countries in the Asia-Pacific region: Sinagpore, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, China, South Korea and Taiwan.

Ruangguru Indonesian education company

PT Ruang Raya Indonesia, doing business as Ruangguru is a startup company focusing in education. The premium service focuses on helping students in understanding school curriculums, as well as helping with exams, particularly standardised tests.

Traveloka is an Indonesian unicorn company that provides airline ticketing and hotel booking services online expanding rapidly into Southeast Asia and Australia. It recently expanded to provide lifestyle products and services, such as attraction tickets, activities, car rental, and restaurant vouchers.

Bukalapak is an Indonesian e-commerce company. It was founded in 2010 as an online marketplace to enable small and medium enterprises go online and has expanded to support smaller traditional family owned businesses (warungs).

Alley is a privately held company based in New York City that operates coworking spaces in several cities in the United States. Besides its own location, the company operates several offices branded as Alley powered by Verizon, under an agreement with Verizon Communications. The Office Pass (TOP) is a neighborhood co-working tech platform and operator, headquartered in Gurgaon, India, that connects companies and professionals with office space located near them.

Ucommune, formerly known as UrWork, is a Beijing-based coworking space provider founded in 2015 by Mao Daqing. It is now the second-largest coworking space provider after WeWork, with properties in three dozen cities around the world, including Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York City. The company was valued at 1.8 billion US dollars in August 2018, making it the first domestic unicorn in the Chinese co-working space, but by November 2018, ucommune had completed its D round of financing, securing a valuation of 2.4 billion US dollars. In February 2019, it was reported that the company was seeking to list on the NASDAQ at a valuation of $3 billion.

East Ventures is a Jakarta, Indonesia-based early stage venture capital (VC) firm. Founded in 2009, it is one of the longest-serving seed investors in Southeast Asia.

The Riveter is a for-profit company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. It is focused on supporting women in the workplace. It engages in political advocacy, provides office and work space, hosts events, and publishes content. It was named after Rosie the Riveter, a symbol for women in the workplace during World War II.

Amy Nelson is an American lawyer, political activist, and entrepreneur. She grew up in Ohio where she became interested in politics at an early age. She earned degrees in International Studies from Emory University and Law from New York University. Nelson worked as a corporate attorney and served on Barack Obama's Finance Committee prior to becoming an entrepreneur. In January 2017, she founded The Riveter, an organization that provides work space and other services to support working women.
