COBUS Industries is a brand of airport shuttle buses manufactured by Salvador Caetano, distributed by COBUS Industries, based in Wiesbaden, Germany. [1]
In the United Arab Emirates, Dubai-based Emirates made a purchase of 128 buses in November 2018 with them to be fully in service by 2020. [2]
In the United Kingdom, Bristol Airport announced in September 2021 they were trialling an electric airport bus to ferry passengers from the gates to the aircraft on the apron field. The vehicle being trialled is claimed by the company to have a capacity of 110 passengers. [3] Later in November 2021, Glasgow Airport trialled the eCOBUS at their airport, initially deployed to assist moving delegates and support staff during the COP26 summit. [4]
More electric bus trials were announced in August 2022 when Birmingham-based National Express partnered with Stansted to trial the company's electric powered COBUS 2700 with a maximum capacity of 88 passengers. [5]
A year later in September 2022, Cobus announced the launch of the electric-powered Vega at the GSE Expo Europe in Paris, France, with a maximum width of 3 and passenger doors on both sides of the bus, as well as its fuel cell Hydra bus, with a range of 400 kilometres. [1] [6] [7]
In May 2023, The Aruba Airport Authority in Aruba made a purchase of an electric powered COBUS 3000. [8]

The Alexander Dennis Enviro200EV is a battery electric single-deck bus produced by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis in partnership with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD Auto since 2015. An electric variant of the diesel integral Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC, which had been launched that same year to replace the outgoing Enviro200 and Enviro300, the Enviro200EV utilises BYD's own 12 m chassis and drivetrain and has a range of up to 160 miles with a recharge time of 3.5 hours. A shorter 10.8 m variant was subsequently added to the range in 2016.
The Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV is a battery electric integral midibus built by British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis. It is the first midibus produced by the company equipped with Alexander Dennis' own in-house electric drivetrain, complementing the BYD-powered Enviro200EV in the Alexander Dennis product range. The body of the bus is to be assembled in Zhuhai in China, while the chassis of the bus is to be assembled with the body at the Alexander Dennis factory in Scarborough in England.
CAVForth is a pilot scheme based in eastern Scotland to develop passenger-carrying autonomous bus services in the United Kingdom. The scheme's first bus route, the AB1 park and ride service, is operated by Stagecoach East Scotland at a 20-minute frequency between Edinburgh Park and the Ferrytoll Park and Ride site via the Forth Road Bridge. Described by the UK government as being the first full-size public autonomous bus service in the world, the service, which commenced public operations on 15 May 2023, uses a fleet of five Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV diesel single-deck buses built to SAE Level 4 requirements, meaning a driver is present in the bus at all times but does not need to control the bus in regular service.
