The Coconino Association for Vocations, Industry and Technology is a joint technological education district in Coconino County, Arizona. Established in 2001, it is one of Arizona's eleven such districts. It receives funding from the state and secondary property taxes in the association's five member districts: the Flagstaff Unified School District, Fredonia-Moccasin Unified School District, Grand Canyon Unified School District, Page Unified School District, and the Williams Unified School District.
Coconino County is a county located in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Arizona. Its population was 134,421 at the 2010 census. The county seat is Flagstaff. The county takes its name from Cohonino, a name applied to the Havasupai. It is the second-largest county by area in the contiguous United States, behind San Bernardino County, California, with its 18,661 sq mi (48,300 km2), or 16.4% of Arizona's total area, making it larger than each of the nine smallest states.

Williams is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, located west of Flagstaff. Its population was 3,023 at the 2010 census. It lies on the routes of Historic Route 66 and Interstate 40. It is also the southern terminus of the Grand Canyon Railway, which takes visitors to Grand Canyon Village. There are numerous inns, motels, restaurants and gas stations catering to the large influx of tourists rather than local residents, especially during the summer and holiday seasons.

The Coconino National Forest is a 1.856-million acre United States National Forest located in northern Arizona in the vicinity of Flagstaff. Originally established in 1898 as the "San Francisco Mountains National Forest Reserve", the area was designated a U.S. National Forest in 1908 when the San Francisco Mountains National Forest Reserve was merged with lands from other surrounding forest reserves to create the Coconino National Forest. Today, the Coconino National Forest contains diverse landscapes, including deserts, ponderosa pine forests, flatlands, mesas, alpine tundra, and ancient volcanic peaks. The forest surrounds the towns of Sedona and Flagstaff and borders four other national forests; the Kaibab National Forest to the west and northwest, the Prescott National Forest to the southwest, the Tonto National Forest to the south, and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest to the southeast. The forest contains all or parts of ten designated wilderness areas, including the Kachina Peaks Wilderness, which includes the summit of the San Francisco Peaks. The headquarters are in Flagstaff. There are local ranger district offices in Flagstaff, Happy Jack, and Sedona.
The Arizona Strip is the part of Arizona lying north of the Colorado River. The difficulty of crossing the Grand Canyon causes this region to have more physical and cultural connections with southern Utah and Nevada than with the rest of Arizona. The largest settlements in the Strip are Colorado City, Fredonia, and Beaver Dam, with its surrounding communities of Scenic, Littlefield and Desert Springs.

Bedrock City was a Flintstones-themed roadside attraction consisting of an amusement park and RV park at the corner of Arizona State Route 64 and U.S. Route 180 in Coconino County, in the U.S. state of Arizona. The park was opened in 1972, following the owners' success with a predecessor park near Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. The park had licensed the likenesses of the Flintstones characters, and featured statues, rides, and a diner based on that theme.
