Cocoon for the Golden Future is the seventh studio album by Japanese electronicore band Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas. It was released on 26 October 2022 through Getting Better Records. [1] [2] [3] [4] It is the first album in which lead vocalist So sings in Korean in one of the songs.

Background and promotion

On 16 December 2020, the band released the first single "Shape of Trust" which is the theme song of the character "Mr. Judgement" (Mr.ジャッジメント) from the mobile game A.I.M.$ – All You Need Is Money. [5] On 24 March 2021, they released the second single "Evolve Forward in Hazard", a theme song of the drama Shin Minami no Teiou – Ginjiro no Eijiro no Aiji wo Mamoruete. [6] On 21 April, the band unveiled the third single "One Shot, One Mind". It was used as theme song for 2021 Kantele professional baseball broadcasts. [7]

On 26 February 2022, the all-female rock band Raise A Suilen published the single "Repaint", a collaboration song with the band. Raise A Suilen did the vocals, and the band did the instrumentals. On 22 June, they unveiled their own version of the song as the fourth single of the album. The single is used as the commercial song for the mobile game New Japan Pro-Wrestling Strong Spirits. [8] On 24 August, the band released the fifth single "Tear Down" along with a music video. The single is also the insert song of the live-action movie The Violence Action . [9] On 14 September, the band released a video trailer for the album, which contained improved shots of the Dance & Scream Special 10th Anniversary One-Man Show, and a TV-sized version of the music video "Ain't That So Awesome".

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream is a 1971 novel in the gonzo journalism style by Hunter S. Thompson. The book is a roman à clef, rooted in autobiographical incidents. The story follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney, Doctor Gonzo, as they descend on Las Vegas to chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze, all the while ruminating on the failure of the 1960s countercultural movement. The work is Thompson's most famous book, and is noted for its lurid descriptions of illicit drug use and its early retrospective on the culture of the 1960s. Thompson's highly subjective blend of fact and fiction, which it popularized, became known as gonzo journalism. Illustrated by Ralph Steadman, the novel first appeared as a two-part series in Rolling Stone magazine in 1971 before being published in book form in 1972. It was later adapted into a film of the same title in 1998 by director Terry Gilliam, starring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro, who portrayed Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo, respectively.

The album's title, All That We Have Now, says that they have become their culmination content so far. The album reached number 4 on Oricon chart, sold 23,525 copies in its first week release. The single of the album, "Just Awake", originally recorded in Japanese, was later released with an English version. It was used as the first ending theme of the Hunter × Hunter reboot anime.
