Colleen Sullivan-Leonard (born 1959) is an American politician from Alaska. A Republican,she represented District 7 in the Alaska House of Representatives.
Sullivan-Leonard served on the Wasilla City Council from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2010 to 2016. [1]
In 2016,Sullivan-Leonard successfully ran for the Alaska House of Representatives,succeeding Lynn Gattis. She defeated Brandon Montano in the 2016 Republican primary and Democrat Sherie Olson in the general election. [2] In 2020,Sullivan-Leonard declined to run for a third term to be closer to home for work and family. She presently serves on the Wasilla City Council as of 2022.

Fred Machetanz was an Alaskan painter and illustrator who specialized in depictions of Alaskan scenes,people and wildlife. He first came to the territory in 1935,when he traveled to Unalakleet to visit his uncle,Charles Traeger,who ran a trading post there and spent 2 years developing a portfolio of Alaskan scenes. After leaving Alaska,he spent some time as an illustrator in New York,but longed to return to Alaska. He returned in 1942 after volunteering with the U.S. Navy and requesting a posting to the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and was responsible for intelligence for the North Pacific Command. After the war,he trained for a short time at the Art Students League in New York,studying lithography under Will Barnet,and then returned to Unalakleet in 1946.

Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2011 was the 6th Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant held at the Linda Chapin Theatre in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando,Florida on July 29th,2017. Jeanette Morelan of Wisconsin crowned her successor Lacey Russ of Oklahoma at the end of the event. This was the first time that Miss Oklahoma's Outstanding Teen captured the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen. Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron hosted the pageant.
Finger Lake is a lake in Wasilla,Alaska. It is not technically a finger lake,but was named so by Captain Edward Glenn,who led an army expedition to Alaska in 1898 and felt that "when viewing the lake on a map,a point of land in the lake gives the impression of a finger." The lake has populations of Rainbow Trout,Arctic Char and Arctic Grayling and is a popular fishing spot,including ice fishing in winter. The lake is at the south end of the Seven-mile canoe trail that ends at Wasilla Lake,the only portage is at the north end of Finger Lake.
Wasilla Lake is a lake in Wasilla,Alaska,named by workers constructing the Alaska Railroad after a nearby creek named Wasilla Creek. The lake shore is the site of a city park,Newcomb Park. It is the northern terminus of the Seven-Mile Canoe Trail,the other end being at Finger Lake. Outside of the park areas most of the shoreline is private property. The lake has a stable population of rainbow trout and fishing is considered good for bank,boat,and ice fishing.
