The College of Fisheries Science and Research Centre is a government college in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India, started in 4th dean committee 2015. Etawah, also known as Ishtikapuri, is a city on the banks of Yamuna River in the state of Western Uttar Pradesh in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Etawah District. Etawah's population of 256,838 makes it the 180th most populous city in India. The city lies 300 km (190 mi) southeast of the national capital New Delhi, 230 km (140 mi) northwest of the state capital Lucknow, 120 km east of Agra and 140 km west of Kanpur. The city was an important centre for the Indian Rebellion of 1857. It is also the sangam or confluence of the Yamuna and Chambal rivers. It is the 26th most populous city in Uttar Pradesh.

The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) is a university established by the Government of Kerala devoted to studies in fisheries and ocean sciences. The bill seeking to establish the university was passed by the Kerala Legislative Assembly on 30 December 2010. KUFOS has its headquarters in the premises of the College of Fisheries, Panangad, near Madavana Junction along the Kochi Bypass. The College of Fisheries, established in 1979, was a constituent college of the Kerala Agricultural University. KUFOS is the first university in India exclusively dedicated to studies in fisheries and allied disciplines. Sarvagya Singh Katiyar, FRSC, popularly known as S. S. Katiyar, was an Indian scientist specializing in enzymology, and the founder Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow. He is a former president of the Association of Indian Universities and a former vice chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2003 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award, followed by Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in 2009.

Kishan Singh was an Indian plant pathologist, known for his contributions to the pathology of crops, especially sugarcane. An alumnus of the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, he is reported to have done seminal research on the epidemiology and control of sugarcane diseases and suggested disease management through hot air therapy. He has published his research findings by way of articles and books, which include Soil fungicides, Recent advances in plant pathology, The national research grid for sugarcane in India, Sugarcane diseases and prospects of their control, Diseases of sugarbeet in India, Grassy shoot disease of sugarcane : III: response of varieties to infection, Innovations in companion cropping with sugarcane and Laminar infection of sugarcane leaves by red rot organism in nature. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, in 1976, for his contributions to biological sciences. Singh died on 2 September 2012, at the age of 81.
